“Climate Hustle” goes to Washington:
Skeptical film to premiere on Capitol Hill;
Riveting panel with Gov. Sarah Palin and other guests

(March 31, 2016) The U.S. premiere of CFACT’s groundbreaking new documentary, Climate Hustle will take place at a Capitol Hill briefing in the historic Rayburn Office Building, including a riveting panel discussion on climate change featuring Gov. Sarah Palin and other notable guests. The invitation-only briefing and panel discussion will be held on April 14, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event comes just a week prior to the opening for signature of the U.N. Paris Agreement on climate change on Earth Day (April 22), and just a short time before Climate Hustle is seen in select U.S. cinemas for a one-night presentation by Fathom Events and SpectiCast on May 2, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. local time.

With welcoming remarks by Congressman Lamar Smith (R-TX), Chairman of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee and headlined by Gov. Sarah Palin (2008 Republican Vice Presidential Candidate; 9th Governor of Alaska), the panel will be taped and shown during the national theater event. The discussion will be moderated by Brent Bozell, Founder and President of the Media Research Center, and will also include other notable experts including respected climatologist Dr. David Legates and a special video appearance by Emmy Award-winning educator Bill Nye the Science Guy. The panel will further examine some of the science, politics, and media coverage of the climate issue, and go far toward helping debunk much of the alarmism and hype exposed in the Climate Hustle film.

David Rothbard, Executive Producer of the film and President of CFACT, said “We are honored to be having Climate Hustle’s U.S. premiere take place on Capitol Hill, and are excited to be bringing the film to life with a provocative discussion featuring some of the biggest names in the climate debate.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 21, 2016

(March 21, 2016) CFACT and CDR Communications, in partnership with Event Cinema provider SpectiCast, are pleased to announce the release of “Climate Hustle,” a one-night engagement in theaters nationwide on May 2, 2016 that debunks the myths and hype about man-made global warming in an informative and entertaining style. Additional details, including a very special bonus event featuring a newsworthy name, will be released very soon.

On the heels of Earth Day (April 22nd) and the opening of the signing of the Paris Agreement on climate change at the United Nations, the “Climate Hustle” May 2 event examines the question of whether there is a genuine scientific consensus about alleged man-made global warming. With more than 30 scientists and experts featured, the film reveals the history of climate scares, examines the science on both sides of the debate and digs into the politics and media hype surrounding the issue. It has been called “brutal and extremely funny” by National Review and “dynamite” by Breitbart News.

“Climate Hustle” is hosted by award-winning investigative journalist Marc Morano. A former communications director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, Morano is publisher of CFACT’s ClimateDepot.com, one of the world’s top sources for scientific information skeptical of climate alarm.

“‘Climate Hustle’ is an extremely timely film, especially given the relevant political discussion surrounding global warming,” said Mark Rupp, Co-founder and President of SpectiCast Entertainment. “We feel it is important to share all viewpoints on the climate change issue and ‘Climate Hustle’ provides a perspective not generally shared with the public at large in an informative and engaging way.”

David Rothbard, Executive Producer of the film and President of CFACT, said “The issue of global warming is certainly a ‘hot’ topic and what better way to educate the public than through a film that presents a much-needed perspective based on hard science with a humorous tone.” Added Chris Rogers, Director of “Climate Hustle” and President of CDR Communications, “In the midst of this year’s election, it is of the utmost importance that voters hear both sides of this much-hyped issue, in order to make more educated decisions about climate and energy policies that will affect generations to come.”

“Climate Hustle” assembles an impressive group of experts in climate science and policy, many of whom worked on the UN’s climate assessments, but left after the UN ignored overwhelming evidence that contradicts its position.

Nationally syndicated columnist Cal Thomas calls Climate Hustle “tremendous” and says “anyone who still believes in ‘climate change’ after watching this film needs the type of reprogramming given to cult members.”

Noted climatologist Dr. Judith Curry of the Georgia Institute of Technology, who is featured in the film, adds “Climate Hustle is a refreshing and entertaining antidote to the sillier and alarming claims about climate change and its impacts that people regularly hear from politicians and the media.”

RIP: Aussie Geologist Dr. Robert ‘Bob’ Carter – Died at 74 Years of Age – A True Champion of Science!

Via Joe Bast of the Heartland Institute

Friends,

It is with deep regret that I report the passing of a friend, colleague, and great scholar, Dr. Robert M. Carter. Bob died peacefully in a hospital surrounded by family and friends following a heart attack a few days ago. He was 74 years old.

Funeral arrangements are being made and it will most likely take place on Monday next week in Townsville, Australia.

This is almost unspeakably sad. Bob was the very embodiment of the “happy warrior” in the global warming debate. He was a scholar’s scholar, with impeccable credentials (including a Ph.D. from Cambridge), careful attention to detail, and a deep understanding of and commitment to the scientific method. He endured the slings and arrows of the anti-science Left with seeming ease and good humor and often warned against resorting to similar tactics to answer them.

Bob never failed to answer the call to defend climate science, getting on planes to make the long flight from Australia to the U.S., to Paris, and to other lands without complaints or excuses. He was a wonderful public speaker and a charming traveling mate. He was not an easy man to edit, though – he kept wanting to put unnecessary commas, “that’s,” and boldfacing back into his manuscripts — but the great ones never are.

Bob helped immeasurably with three volumes in the Climate Change Reconsidered series, a series of hefty compilations of scientific research he coauthored and coedited with Craig D. Idso and S. Fred Singer. Just a few weeks ago, he flew to Paris to speak at Heartland’s “Day of Examining the Data” and contributed to the completion and review of another book, Why Scientists Disagree About Global Warming: The NIPCC report on scientific consensus.

We honored Bob with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 10th International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC-10) in Washington DC last June. I regret that I missed that event due to the sudden onset of shingles, and so missed the opportunity to see my friend as well as publicly recognize his great achievements in science.

We’ve updated Bob’s online bio, it is copied and pasted below. A “guestbook” is being created at Heartland’s blog, Somewhat Reasonable. If you have a comment or memory you’d like to share, please send it to Jim Lakely at [email protected]
