Morano: Yes. I have been promoting global warming skepticism. Here is a summary of my awards and notable citations:
Morano was named one of only five ‘criminals against humanity, against planet Earth itself” in 2009 by the eco-magazine Grist. (The other five criminals were Bjorn Lomborg, Richard Lindzen, Sen. James Inhofe and former President George Bush.) Newsweek Magazine declared Morano “is quickly becoming King of the skeptics!” in December 2009. Newsweek called Climate Depot the “most popular denial site.” Tina Brown’s Daily Beast also recognized Morano as one of the “The Right’s Top 25 Journalists” who serves as a “bombastic foe of the Greens.” Daily Beast described Climate Depot as “a bustling, one-stop-shop for climate skeptics.”

Morano: The rise of skepticism restores my faith in peoples intelligence and their critical thinking. Skepticism is winning because man-made climate fears have become absurd. From everything to warnings about more airline turbulence to increases in rape, murder, and vehicle thefts, the man-made global warming movement has morphed into medieval witchcraft. Politicians are claiming they can alter storms and bad weather through acts of Congress or the UN.
Question: -About six months, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) confirmed that global warming was a real phenomenom caused by men, but also confirmed that the rate of global warming has decelerated last 15 years. Question: -What were the most important moments for scepticism since the birth of climate change concept? Maybe the “Climagate”?
Morano: Yes, Climategate was key to exposing the man-made climate ‘consensus’ con. But I think two key developments doomed the global warming movement from the beginning. The man-made global warming fear movement never overcame having a partisan figure like Al Gore being its public face and suffered from having the scandal ridden and distrusted UN IPCC as the source of its science.
A poll came out today from Gallup polling. This latest poll shows the global warming movement has failed, totally and completely to convince Americans of an impending apocalypse. Examination of the long-term temperature record in Figure 7-2 may instill some skepticism, however. Direct measurements of temperature in Europe date back about 300 years, and a combination of various proxies can provide a reliable thermometer extending back 150,000 years. From Figure 7-2 (second panel from top), we see that the warming observed over the past century is actually the continuation of a longer-term trend which began in about 1700 AD, before anthropogenic inputs of greenhouse gases became appreciable. This longer-term trend is thought to be caused by natural fluctuations in solar activity. Going back further in time we find that the surface temperature of the Earth has gone through large natural swings over the past 10,000 years, with temperatures occasionally higher than present ( Figure 7-2 , second panel from bottom). Again, fluctuations in solar activity may be responsible. Extending the record back to 150,000 years ( Figure 7-2 , bottom panel) reveals the succession of glacial and interglacial climates driven by periodic fluctuations in the orbit and inclination of the Earth relative to the Sun. From consideration of Figure 7-2 alone, it would be hard to view the warming over the past 100 years as anything more than a natural fluctuation!
It is very telling that not only is the “center” not investigating the reality of “Global Warming”, but it’s purpose is to disseminate information on “Climate Change” (apparently with looming disaster as a given), as if climate had not been changing since ice covered the US only a couple of hundred miles north of the university.
I guess the tactical switch from “global warming” to “climate change” is part of the learned institution’s communication recomendations.
“It was always global climate change. Nobody ever said global warming.” How many times have you heard one of these lunatics say that recently? Then they turn right around and call it global warming, when it suits that day’s narrative. I always appreciated Orwell, but thought of it as being overblown, for purposes of illustration. Until now.
The Global Warming scare at a little over 1C has it’s roots in millennial hysteria and is nothing more than the Greens Mayan Calendar.
