NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center have now finalised their tornado data for 2015.

The year finished with 481 tornadoes of EF-1 strength or greater, the fourth year in a row that has been below average.

Perhaps more significantly, the number of EF-3 and stronger tornadoes was one of the lowest on record. You have to go back to 1987 to find fewer. There were no EF-5s at all, and only three EF-4s.

      1. Each micro-agression raises the Earth’s surface temperature 0.0001°. It all adds up, luckily, each SafeSpace LOWERS the temperature 0.05°, but, that is offset by hot air any time a liberal opens their mouth.

Seems you and the other dimbulbs don’t realize Bush has been out of office for NEARLY eight years! Only proves oblamers SUCKS!

  1. 2015 may have been one of the slowest years on record, but 2016 isn’t turning out that way. 2016 has already been a pretty intense year for tornadoes, and it’s only March!

  2. This deserves serious analysis. The paucity of tornadoes in the US in recent years has resulted in a significant drop in weather-related storm insurance policies being issued, plus a dramatic reduction in media revenues, which always spike when severe weather is forecast. Additionally, the construction industry in tornado-prone areas has suffered due to the lack of storm damage. President Obama is considering a measure proposed by former vice-president Al Gore that structures more than ten years old or already fully depreciated be destroyed to make way for new construction and provide jobs for hard-pressed construction workers in the affected areas. The proposed bill would specify that only union labor be employed in both the demolition of existing structures and the building of new ones.

President Obama was quoted yesterday as saying, “I’ll sign it as soon as it reaches my desk.”

    1. Not to mention the greening of the deserts. By the way, that should be “fewer tornadoes, fewer hurricanes”, or less wind. Funny how nobody makes the opposite grammatical error, “fewer wind”. Sorry but this is a peeve of mine.

  3. The charts above only show back as far as 1970, because prior to that it does not fit into their explanation of why things are the way they are. The chart below shows an increase in tornadic activity from 1958 to 1970. Tornadoes are caused by a mixing of cold and warm air, so prior to 1970 was the planet in a global cooling trend? This is a result of normal weather patterns. The earth goes through heating and cooling phases naturally.

  4. Greedy Green Industrial complex will move to another “cause”. Obviously, hurricanes & tornadoes do not fit the “climate change” narrative. Unless , one creates fake hockey stick data

    1. In the past they counted tornadoes at the wrong time of day, so we need to “adjust” the numbers downward in the past. And now we count them at a different wrong time of day, so we have to adjust the numbers upward for recent years.

  5. This can’t be right. MSNBC and CNN dedicated 28% more time covering Tornadoes in the last 2 years (corresponding to a 28% reduction in breaking news on the MH370 flight…)

  6. See? This proves CAGW (Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming) is true – just like we’ve been saying all along! The sky is falling! We’re all going to die!

  7. The tornadoes must be hiding in the deep Pacific … er … I mean under the Antarctic ice cap … er … We need to revise the count upwards because all tornado-counting stations have been under the influence of climate change deniers … or something.

  8. It’s so beautiful how every time these enviro-nazis make a proclamation like ‘the world is getting hotter’ or ‘the ice is melting’ or ‘children born in the UK today will never see snow’ or ‘global warming is causing a lot of extreme weather events’ that the exact OPPOSITE of their claims is what occurs. Maybe they should take the hint and shut up, for good.

      1. Hey Grizz man, the more I read about George W. and his family of crooks (like the Clintons) the more I might tend to blame him now. I actually voted for him twice due to him being incessantly blamed by the Marxists in media for every evil under the sun.

          1. Hey Grizz, I thought that he may have had something to do with that too! LOL. I also heard that he caused a number of earthquakes due to underground nuclear testing or fracking.

  9. The decline in storms is due to the employment of windmills. They break up the air flow so that the winds cannot create large storms. Who cares if the kill birds and butterflies? They have government permits to do it.

  10. History says human lifespan and prosperous populations increase during warmer climate periods. Longer growing seasons and favorable mobility taking credit. So why would governments want to cool things down? Could it be that prosperous citizens need less reliance on government? People feel more empowered and governments less authoritarian? Warm temperatures equal more democracy and freedom, something the Socialist Globalists must stop!

  11. After Katrina. The global warming so called experts that don’t know Jack Squat told us that due to global warming there would be 20+ major hurricanes the following year. There were only two, and none made landfall. The next year they again predicted around 20 major storms. There were just a couple again, and only one made landfall. The next several years their predictions went down a little, and a little more, each year they were so totally wrong. They don’t know Jack Squat about weather or climate and should never be listened to. Fools on the public dole. All of them.

  12. Fewer tornadoes, I’m sure the residents of Oklahoma are disappointed about that. The only reason for living there is a national sob-story and free FEMA money when your town gets pulverized.

  13. EF0 tornado reports have been on the increase. It is the increasing observations, not an increase in actual tornadoes.
