Don’t let the planet Bern! ‘Bernie Sanders’ policies would increase global warming’ – Warmists lament Sanders climate plan –
But a careful look at Sanders’ actual proposals tells a different story. He proposes to retire the nation’s nuclear reactors, which are the nation’s largest source of zero-carbon energy and generate 20% of the nation’s electricity and 60% of its zero-carbon power. Doing so would result in power sector emissions rising over 20% by 2050.
Sanders has vowed if elected to rewrite the Obama administration’s Clean Power Plan(which primarily restricts coal use) to make it tougher on natural gas. Doing so wouldgut the rule. Regulation of carbon emissions from the power sector under provisions of the Clean Air Act depends almost entirely on the Environmental Protection Agency’s determination that cheap natural gas generation is the “best available” alternative to coal power plants.…
Obama: U.S. responsible for ‘climate change’
The U.S. and Canada are responsible to a great degree for causing the Earth’s temperature to rise and spurring climate change, President Obama said Thursday.
“In some ways, as wealthier countries, we can probably adapt and manage better,” Obama said in a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “On the other hand, we’re also those responsible for a lot of the carbon pollution that is causing climate change.”…
Kids sue Obama for violating their constitutional ‘climate change’ rights
Backed by an environmental group and climate activist James Hansen, 21 kids appeared in an Oregon District Court on Wednesday, part of a lawsuitagainst President Obama for encouraging the use of fossil fuels. They also claim this is leading to increased global warming, which is a violation of their constitutional rights. Similar to a suit that was filed last summer in Massachusetts, in which the judge threw out the case, the children aged 8 to 19 seek to hold “President Obama and various federal agencies responsible for continued fossil fuel exploitation” and the “alleged failure to prevent the harmful impact of climate change.”
The suit was originally filed on August 12, 2015, and Judge Thomas Coffin heard oral arguments yesterday on whether to dismiss the climate change case brought by 21 young people from around the nation. The plaintiffs saythat the government has known for 50 years that using fossil fuels like oil and natural gas are causing global warming and that “continuing to burn fossil fuels would destabilize the climate system.” They hope their case will put the science of global warming in “front of the federal judiciary” and show how the government has been complicit in exploiting the usage of these dino fuels.…
NOAA: Number of major tornadoes in 2015 was ‘one of the lowest on record’ – Tornadoes below average for 4th year in a row –

NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center have now finalised their tornado data for 2015.
The year finished with 481 tornadoes of EF-1 strength or greater, the fourth year in a row that has been below average.
Perhaps more significantly, the number of EF-3 and stronger tornadoes was one of the lowest on record. You have to go back to 1987 to find fewer. There were no EF-5s at all, and only three EF-4s.

…Obama’s Carbon Admission: ‘I Have the World’s Largest Carbon Footprint’
President Obama once “ruefully” admitted to staff that he personally is the planet’s largest source of carbon emissions, according to an anecdote published in The Atlantic.
The brief aside was mentioned by author Jeffrey Goldberg in a passage about the burden of Obama’s worldwide travel arrangements.
With that, Obama stood up and said, “Okay, gotta go.” He headed out of his office and down the stairs, to the red carpet and the honor guard and the cluster of Malaysian officials waiting to greet him, and then to his armored limousine, flown to Kuala Lumpur ahead of him. (Early in his first term, still unaccustomed to the massive military operation it takes to move a president from one place to another, he noted ruefully to aides, “I have the world’s largest carbon footprint.”)
As of January last year, the president was approaching 450,000 miles of international travel during his administration, according to numbers compiled by TIME. This being his last year in office, he has a full travel schedule in 2016, including a short jaunt to Cuba this month.…
