Hillary Clinton: ‘Hurricane Matthew was likely more destructive because of climate change’
“Hurricane Matthew was likely more destructive because of climate change right now,” she said, citing “record high” ocean temperatures.
She insisted that climate change “contributed” to the torrential rainfall and the flash flooding in North and South Carolina.
“Sea levels have risen one foot in much of the Southeast which means Matthew’s storm surge was higher and the flooding more severe,” she said ominously.
It didn’t stop there.
Clinton and Gore teamed up to warn that most of the destructive natural disasters in the past decade were a result of climate change.
Zika and Lyme disease were more threatening because summers lasted longer, they argued, allowing ticks and mosquitoes to live longer.
“Every single night on the television news is like a major hike through the Book of Revelation,” Gore said. “You look at the floods and the droughts and the mudslides and the fires and the incredible downpours…”
Longer summers made it worse for children who suffered from allergies and asthma, Clinton said, and also caused more wildfires.
Gore urged Floridians to vote for Hillary Clinton, because she would take climate change seriously.
“Mother Nature is giving us a very clear and powerful message,” he said. “We cannot continue putting 110 million tons of global warming pollution into the atmosphere every day as if it’s an open sewer. We’ve got to stop that.”
Podesta Said He Wanted Cecil the Lion Killer Extradited, Jailed

Lobbied former NYT reporter to write op-ed in favor of sending shooter back to Zimbabwe
BY:
John Podesta, the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, wrote that the man who killed Cecil the Lion should be extradited to Zimbabwe and jailed, according to hacked emails posted online on Tuesday.
In an August 1, 2015 email to former New York Timesreporter Barry Bearak, Podesta suggested that Bearak write a column calling for Cecil the Lion’s killer to be sent back to Zimbabwe to face local authorities.
Bearak had conducted award-winning international reporting for the Times. Bearak also spent time in a Zimbabwean prison while covering the country’s 2008 elections and the resulting backlash against opposition forces by brutal leader Robert Mugabe.
Podesta said that experience made him the perfect person to write about Cecil the Lion.
“As the only person anyone knows who has spent time in a Zimbabwe jail, you should pen an oped calling for his killer’s extradition,” he wrote to Bearak.
“What an asshole,” Podesta continued.…
Coal CEO Bob Murray: ‘It’s a tragedy what’s happening in the coal fields…Obama is the greatest destroyer America’s had’
Robert Murray, CEO of Murray Energy.
According to Murray, the Obama administration’s policies are hurting the lowest income families, saying there were about 35,000 jobs lost in the coal industry this year and 60,000 in all.
“It’s a tragedy what’s happening in the coal fields, with the destruction of lives, by Barack Obama, who is the greatest destroyer America’s had. And Mrs. Clinton says ‘I will expand on those policies,’” he said.

Murray, who has been outspoken about Hillary Clinton’s energy policy, also reiterated why her clean energy push is “all about money.”

“She’s getting millions of dollars from the manufacturers of solar panels and windmills…She said these people need this government help. These are the richest billionaires of the country that are kicking in to the Clinton Foundation, to the Clinton campaign, to build windmills and solar panels because it requires a subsidy. Coal stands in the way of that,” he argued.

…Gore to appear in hurricane-battered Florida to rally millennials for Clinton
Can former vice president Al Gore, who hasn’t been on the ballot in a decade and a half, persuade young voters to back Hillary Clinton by appearing in hurricane-battered South Florida?
He and the Democratic presidential nominee will start testing this proposition Tuesday afternoon, when the two appear together at Miami Dade College.
The location has plenty of symbolic importance — the area has not only just been battered by Hurricane Matthew, it is also a part of the country most vulnerable to sea-level rise and in the state where Green Party candidate Ralph Nader helped derail Gore’s 2000 presidential candidacy.
[For millennial voters, the Clinton vs. Trump choice ‘feels like a joke’]
The 3 p.m. appearance is timed to coincide with the state’s voter registration deadline, and the Clinton campaign announced Sunday that the two politicians would urge Florida voters “to check their registration status and to get registered by October 11 to make their voices heard this election.”…
Gore to campaign for Clinton, hoping to galvanize young voters on ‘climate change’
Former vice president Al Gore will start campaigning for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, according to individuals briefed on the plan, in an effort to mobilize young voters who see climate change as a key issue.
The decision by Gore to plunge into the campaign during the final weeks shows the extent to which Democrats remain concerned that Clinton has yet to connect with many millennials, some of whom are backing third-party candidates this year. The former vice president, a climate activist, will speak about not just Clinton’s plan to address global warming, but also the idea that voting for an independent presidential candidate could deliver the White House to Republicans in the same way that Ralph Nader’s candidacy helped undermine his presidential bid in 2000.
CNN first reported Gore’s plans Monday evening.
Gore first endorsed Clinton’s candidacy in late July in a three-part tweet, writing, “Given her qualifications and experience and given the significant challenges facing our nation and the world, including, especially, the global climate crisis, I encourage everyone else to do the same.”
[Clinton is losing some millennials to third-party candiates]
But he has stayed largely on the sidelines during the campaign since then, in part because the two politicians have been distant since the end of Bill Clinton’s time in office. Their relationship became strained for many reasons, including the fact that Gore distanced himself from the two-term president in the wake of his affair with Monica Lewinsky, and they competed for Democratic donors when they were both running for office in 2000.…
Chelsea Clinton Takes Private Jet to ‘Clean Energy’ Conference
Chelsea Clinton was campaigning for her elderly mother in North Carolina on Wednesday — and showing off her Clinton-esque taste for expensive, carbon-emitting travel options.
Here is the video of Chelsea boarding the fuel-guzzling beast, courtesy of the NTK Network:
The Clinton campaign promised during the Democratic primary that their entire operation would be “carbon neutral” and had some friendly reporters write stories about how even campaign manager John Podesta took the bus.
The campaign doesn’t talk about that pledge much anymore, given the how much the Clintons love flying on private jets, presumably out of class envy. They may be rich AF, but it must annoy them to have to attend campaign fundraiser with so many hedge fund managers who are even richer AF than they are and own their own private jets.
For example, Bill Clinton has flown on billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein‘s private jet, affectionately nicknamed the “Lolita Express,” on numerous occasions.
Hillary, meanwhile, hates flying on commercial aircraft with commoners; she oncedescribed it as “burdensome,” but that might also be due to the fact that she is very old and mobility challenged.
Flying on private jets, which are terrible for the environment, to attend allegedly pro-environment functions is a favorite pastime of ultra-wealthy celebrities, such as Leonardo DiCaprio.
Analysis: ‘Climate Exaggeration is Backfiring’ – ‘Equating Third Reich with free society’s fossil-fuel reliance, & charging GOP with climate destruction, is theater of the absurd’
Green activists are at war with the greatest American foe since the Axis Powers—or so they say. The latest Democratic Party platform compares the fight against global warming to World War II.
Using terms such as “battlefield,” “siege,” and “front,” those opposed this “war effort” have been labeled anything from Nazis to Holocaust deniers. (I personally have been called a sociopath by climate activist Joe Romm of the Center for American Progress, another story.)
The upcoming election has inspired dire concern. Don’t “vote for climate catastrophe” warned a Washington Post editorialist. “At this point,” stated Michael Klare, Professor of Peace and World Security at Hampshire College, “electing green-minded leaders, stopping climate deniers (or ignorers) from capturing high office, and opposing fossil FOSL -1.78%-fueled ultranationalism is the only realistic path to a habitable planet.”
Equating the Third Reich with the free society’s fossil-fuel reliance, and charging Republicans with climate destruction, is from the theater of the absurd. Americans care greatly about the future; to say otherwise is to deny their very humanity. It is right and fair that critics of climate catastrophism reject calls for bigger government, tax-wise and regulation-wise.…
