James Hansen, NASA’s ex-climate chief at the forefront of the global warming movement, has a new paper that previews an apocalyptic future from#Climate Change unless we stop emitting all carbon dioxide. And he wants the fossil fuel industry to foot the trillion-dollar bill.
For Hansen, these types of papers are nothing new. He has been warning of Earth’s looming demise since 1988 when he told Congress that the Earth was heating up and it was our fault; he gave a ten-year temperature prediction that was off by 300 percent. Other predictions over his storied career were just as unsuccessful. Now the scientist-turned-activist wants fossil fuel companies held responsible and forced to pay for the so-called climate change problem via judicial activism. And he wrote this paper to support his contention.
He has called the Paris Climate Agreement “toothless” and no better than its predecessor, the Kyoto Protocol. He noted the countries that have signed on to this latest climate deal are deluding themselves. These “governments clapped themselves on the back but when you look at the #Science it doesn’t compute, it’s not true.” Ouch.
Former NASA climate chief says fossil industry must pay trillions
A former NASA climate scientist is urging a full-court press against the fossil fuel industry to get the hundreds of trillions of dollars necessary for the next generation to combat global warming….
Hansen believes the current global warming predictions will cost future generations trillions of dollars and leave young people a problem they can’t control, namely the climate. “It’s not clear they will be able to take such actions,” Hansen told reporters.
He also said fossil fuel companies need to pay for the hundreds of trillions of dollars that a warming world will cost, seemingly mindless that trillions have already been spent on renewables, carbon capture technology, zero emission vehicles, theClean Power Plan, and much more to little effect.
Hansen’s paper wasn’t peer-reviewed but submitted to ‘Earth System Dynamics’ journal. It was written to support a legal case being pursued by Hansen, his granddaughter, and 21 other claimants aged 8 to 19 …
A former NASA climate scientist is urging a full-court press against the fossil fuel industry to get the hundreds of trillions of dollars necessary for the next generation to combat global warming.
James Hansen is releasing a study Tuesday that looks at global temperature rise over the next few decades and what it will cost the younger generation to pay to reduce the warming trend that many scientists say is caused by fossil fuel use.
“Despite widespread recognition of the risks posed by climate change, global fossil fuel emissions continue at a high rate that tends to make these [emission reduction] targets increasingly improbable,” the study said.
The report said the rate of temperature change due to higher levels of carbon dioxide from fossil fuels has increased by 20 percent in the last decade, “thus making it increasingly difficult to achieve targets such as limiting global warming to [an increase of] 1.5 degrees Celsius,” the target agreed to by almost 200 countries in the Paris Agreement.
Hansen concludes from the findings that the younger generation, which will not have sufficient revenue to combat that kind of rapid warming, must turn to the courts to sue for the trillions of dollars that will be required to tackle it effectively and quickly.
Hansen said a growing number of legal cases over climate change are being filed worldwide, with the argument growing that a hospitable environment is a basic human right that the fossil fuel industry has infringed upon and now must pay to remedy.
He said it is time for these lawsuits to “start extracting money from the fossil fuel industry … to fund activities” meant to cut greenhouse gas emission and curb the rise in global temperatures.
“Even optimistic assumptions” show the cost will be in the “100s of trillions of dollars,” he told reporters. Hansen said it is not clear if the next generation “will have the ability to take such actions.”
But it’s more than a climate call to arms. Hansen is offering an indictment of Congress and the executive branch, saying the only incorruptible branch left is the judicial branch.
It is “essential” that the third branch of government, “the courts … get involved in the climate argument,” he said, adding that the courts are less likely to be influenced by third parties.
WASHINGTON DC — Discussing the threat of climate change with Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, President Obama on October 3, said “powerful” studies suggest “the droughts that happened in Syria contributed to the unrest and the Syrian civil war.”
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “There’s already some really interesting work — not definitive but powerful — showing that the droughts that happened in Syria contributed to the unrest and the Syrian civil war. Well, if you start magnifying that across a lot of states, a lot of nation states that already contain a lot of poor people who are just right at the margins of survival, this becomes a national security issue. And, that’s why even as we have members of Congress who scoff at climate change at the same time as they are saluting and wearing flag pins and extolling their patriotism they’re not paying attention to our Joints Chief of Staff and the Pentagon who are saying this is one of the most significant national security threats that we face over the next fifty years.”
OBama Shifts Blame From Assad To Global Warming As The Cause Of The Syrian Civil War: ‘National security experts have pushed back against these claims. Former U.S. Army Gen. Robert Scales told Congress in March the “administration’s new-found passion to connect climate change to war is an example of faulty theories that rely for relevance on politically-correct imaginings rather than established historical precedent.” “The point is that in today’s wars, politically-correct theories inserted into a battle plan might well extend war needlessly and get soldiers killed,” Scales said.
Obama’s claims are wrong on three levels: 1) There is no evidence that Climate Change causes drought, nor is there evidence that the number/scope of droughts are increasing.
2) At the time the Syrian civil war started in 2014 the Earth’s temperatures hadn’t warmed for 16 years
3) The Syrian civil war grew out …

“Climate Hustle” is a climate expose that challenges the alleged ‘consensus’ and shows the public how the urgent cries of climate catastrophists parallel some of the moves of the street hustle confidence game “Three Card Monte.” Millions of Americans packed theatres upon the release of “Climate Hustle” in the US. When The Rebel Media brought “Climate Hustle” to Calgary and Edmonton in the fall of 2016, hundreds of people lined up to see it. There are legitimate concerns about the impact of humans on the earth in terms of pollution, resource use, and energy demand – but the alarmism and strident cries for urgent (very expensive) action on climate change don’t square with the climate evidence or common sense. Friends of Science talked with Executive Producer, Craig Rucker, of CFACT.

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio sat on the White House lawn on Oct. 3, and proclaimed that anyone who doesn’t not believe in climate change “should not be allowed to hold public office.”
“The scientific consensus is in and the argument is now over, if you do not believe in climate change, you do not believe in facts or in science or empirical truths and therefore, in my humble opinion, should not be allowed to hold public office,” DiCaprio stated at the livestreamed White House South By South Lawn (SXSL) event.
The invited crowd responded with cheers.
South By South Lawn, or SXSL, was an all-day,Obama White House event hosting various liberal panel discussions about issues like food, sustainability and climate change as well as musical guests — inspired by the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in Austin, Texas.
DiCaprio was on hand to moderate a one-sided conversation about the threat of manmade climate change featuring President Barack Obama and Dr. Katharine Hayhoe (VIDEO). Obama and Hayhoe took turns arguing the urgency of the climate problem to a friendly crowd, discussing alternative energy, promoting fossil fuel regulations or carbon taxation and warning about worsening “extreme weather.”
Following the talk, his latest climate documentary, Before the Flood, made its U.S. premiere to all those attending. The film will air on National Geographic channel on Oct. 30 — conveniently just eight days before the presidential election.…
American aren’t convinced of the so-called “97 percent” consensus among climate scientists on global warming, and most U.S. adults don’t have “a lot” of trust in climate scientists to give accurate information about the issue.
The Obama administration has repeatedly touted the “97 percent” statistic as proof most climate scientists agree that global warming is man-made, but a new Pew Research poll shows the public still doesn’t agree the consensus is that strong.
“Just 27% of Americans say that ‘almost all’ climate scientists hold human behavior responsible for climate change,” according to Pew’s new poll, published Tuesday.
“Another 35% say more than half of climate scientists agree about this, while an equal share says that about fewer than half (20%) or almost no (15%) scientific experts believe that human behavior is the main contributing factor in climate change,” Pew reported.
One reason belief in the so-called “consensus” is so low among the public is because of media coverage. American adults trust climate scientists even less than the media, according to Pew, so continuous reports about the “97 percent” figure may have some second-guessing its validity.
And skeptical they should be, since the “97 percent” figure has been debunked several times over the past few years. MIT climate scientist Richard Lindzen bashed the study behind the claim, calling it “propaganda.”
DMI now have the September numbers out for Arctic ice extent. They confirm that average extent over the month is one of the highest in the last decade.
Far from being in a death spiral, September ice is clearly on the increase…
Fox News on Sunday April 24, 2016 invited Marc Morano to explain how the armadillo was both a mascot for 1970s global cooling fears and a mascot for current global warming fears.
“This is significant,” Morano said after revealing a stuffed armadillo in a cage. “The armadillo was the only animal that was used a mascot for global cooling in the 1970s… It’s now being used as a mascot for global warming. They’re claiming the armadillo is migrating north to get out of the heat.”
“With global warming, they have a learning curve,” he explained. “They’re trying to go much further in the future [with their doomsday predictions] when the people making the predictions will be dead.”

Why would a reporter grill DiCaprio about recycling, using less natural resources and prepping the planet for a healthier tomorrow?
Because he’s arguably Hollywood’s reigning eco-hypocrite, that’s why.
The tales of his private plane usage, which leaves a massive carbon footprint, are legendary
He loves charting gas-guzzling yachts with his tony pals
Suffice to say he owns more than one home, and they’re hardly modest in size
The irony is that some media outlets have dinged DiCaprio on his hypocrisy. The critiques often come from British newspapers, though.
…
Here are 11 questions the press should (but probably won’t) ask DiCaprio:
How do you square your consistent use of private planes with your green activism?
You’ve said, “The idea of pursuing material objects your whole life is absolutely soulless.” How do you explain that philosophy in light of your lavish lifestyle?
Do you think your large carbon footprint is hurting the very cause you support?
Do you think science is ever truly settled?
So many scientific models about climate change have been flat-out wrong. Response?
Shouldn’t a foundation like yours be more transparent, not less?
When we experience a hot or cold spell we’re often told it’s due to climate change. When climate change skeptics point to similar weather pockets to debunk climate change they’re told climate isn’t weather. Can you explain?
Why do you think other environmentally aware celebrities, like James Cameron, also live lives that contrast their beliefs?
Have you ever had a long, open discussion with a climate change skeptic?
Climate change is being blamed for the rise in terrorism. Do you think that is more or less of a contributing factor than radical Islam?
The recent Gulf of Mexico hurricane drought lasted 10 years, despite us being told climate change would cause more hurricane activity. Can you explain?
