The Weather Channel video uses young kids to promote ‘global warming’ fears – ‘Dear Mom & Dad, climate change could be very catastrophic’

The Weather Channel released a climate change video featuring young children attempting to convince their parents of the seriousness of the issue. The video, entitled ‘When Kids are Talking Climate – Maybe it’s Time to Listen!’ was released on November 1, 2016.

Update: Weather Channel Founder John Coleman rips his old network for ‘immoral’ kids video: “Right or wrong, using children to promote a point of view boarders on immoral. Even knowing that climate change is not happening, it is far beneath my values to use children to promote this truth,” Coleman said in an exclusive interview with Climate Depot.

Coleman continued: “The people who produced this video may believe that man-made climate change is underway and that the future of life on Earth is in the balance. They may feel the use of children to warn us about this is totally appropriate. If the people who produced this video don’t know if man-made climate change is actually happening, but their income from government funding depends on it, so they come up with the idea of using children to make an emotional appeal, this would be shameful and border on abuse.

I do not know which of the above situations is valid, but….

I know without a doubt that there is no significant threat to the future climate of Earth from the industrialized civilization we have created and the drastic climate changes predicted by the Al Gore clan and the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change are not occurring and are based on an invalid theory. But I will not stoop to the use children to promote my position.”

They are all now in their late 20’s and have started going through a box every now and then….throwing away what they don’t want and keeping items they want. In the early 90’s even their “Weekly Readers” were full of global warming garbage. If I had to do it over again they would never step foot inside a public school.

  3. Okay, I’ll start. The Weather Channel officially became a wing of the globalist, communist apparatus when it was purchased by NBC. Now, it is just a propaganda wing for promoting junk science in order to prop-up global redistribution schemes. The “meteorologists” on that channel should be ashamed but I am thinking 30% of them drank the Kool-Aid to preserve their jobs, the other 70%, younger, poisoned people. And these kids? They are all going to need Prozac when dear mom and dad get snowed in their Vermont cabin and freeze to death.

    2. Meteorology is not one of the hard sciences. A degree in that is at the low end of serious science degrees.

      I am not trying to insult anyone. I admire the fact that some had enough focus to complete their degrees.
      I lack about thirty hours in almost any hard science degree (engineering, geology, math,biology, chemistry, physics…I got burned out) but it made me an ideal person for environmental investigations because of the many, many sciences I have in my background. The first thing I learned Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments is that there is NO such thing as an environmental expert.
      That creature does not exist. The public is sadly lacking in science education.

      I understand. The math is difficult and it makes many people run away!
      It is the duty of parents to explain and teach the truth to their children in order to nullify the government sponsored brainwashing.

Do you and your children really need to absorb the video filth and propaganda that comes over the tube? It has become a habit. In the early days of television it was exciting because it actually worked. You could see people and things on a box in your own home. It was not many years before the money makers turned the exciting technology into what became “a vast wasteland”.

    Now it is all about social reprogramming along with the huge profits for people NOT like you.

    I cut the cord 11 years ago. I download old movies from usenet and other free sources. I buy DVDs of TV shows that are good entertainment when they are a good value, like Little House on the Prairie from Ollie’s at 7 bucks a season.

    I am robbed by the government for taxes I have no control of where and how they spend my money, I pay outrageous prices for second quality food, and when I go out, I have to be in the company of fat, ugly, tattooed and pierced, poorly educated, brain dead people from parts unknown who have flooded into every nook and cranny of America.

  18. In ten years when all of the deniers have died off, there wont even be
    any semblance of a “debate” on climate change. I talked to a 19 year
    old about a month ago that talked about climate change in one of his
    college courses on engineering. When I asked how the class handles
    climate deniers, he asked what I mean by “climate deniers.” I told him
    those are people that dont believe in climate change. He laughed, said
    he has never heard of that, and it has never come up in the class.

The way I see it is that solutions to climate change open economic opportunities and cheaper energy sources for everyone and should be embraced for those reasons alone. If we clean up the environment and avoid the worst parts of climate change as a result — that is a two-fer. And anything we can do to rely on the Middle East less for oil makes any policies for alternative energy choices the smart choice.

    2. It was over ten years ago that Al Gore preached the ice at the north pole would be gone, hurricanes would be enormous and more frequent. So increasing the concentration has very very little effect on greenhouse heating. However nobody ever talks about the damn chemtrailing we see ALL the time now. Children can not know, unless their loving parents tell them, that consensus building is not science. “Scientists” can be bribed with government dollars–“funding for research”–to collude and build a consensus. Use of the Scientific Method, a cornerstone of Western Civilization, is still science (and has been for the last 2,000 years). That is why leftists are trying to undermine the historic use of the Scientific Method by replacing it with subjective-prone consensus.

    Nor can children know, that leaked inner-departmental emails at East Anglia University, in England, revealed how the facts were being purposely distorted to support the global warming agenda. And last, children can not know, unless their loving parents tell them, that the global warming agenda’s purpose is to cripple the economies of developed nations, to bring in socialism and any other evil the leftists want to use. That was exposed in the Kyoto Accords.

The UN secretary on GCC admitted the goal was to dismantle capitalism.     At a news conference Feb 10 2015 in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.

    “This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said.

    Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added: “This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”

    The only economic model in the last 150 years that has ever worked at all is capitalism. The evidence is prima facie: From a feudal order that lasted a thousand years, produced zero growth and kept workdays long and lifespans short, the countries that have embraced free-market capitalism have enjoyed a system in which output has increased 70-fold, work days have been halved and lifespans doubled.

    Figueres is perhaps the perfect person for the job of transforming “the economic development model” because she’s really never seen it work. “If you look at Ms. Figueres’ Wikipedia page,” notes Cato economist Dan Mitchell: Making the world look at their right hand while they choke developed economies with their left.

    According to scientists 1.5 million years ago modern man did not exist. No cars. No pollution. No manufacturing. No air conditioning. No Al Gore who has earned almost $500M promoting climate change. The temperature had to rise from reasons not caused by man..
    Scientists, Al Gore, this kid, and most likely his parents and every other Climate Changer ignore this basic fact.

So, I believe that CO2 is a green house gas and I believe that humans are responsible for some of that CO2. What I don’t believe in the unscientific methods of data gathering, data adjustment, calculating atmospheric sensitivity to CO2, estimating what the effects of increased CO2 might be over the next decades, etc..

Having worked with NOAA types and a vast amount of technical education on weather data gathering devices and the processing of that data I don’t align myself with this global climate change BS since it’s all pointing at humanity to be the cause, which is simply not true. Colder winters? Ever think it’s because our sun is inactive compared to when it’s very active and we have a warmer climate as a result?   226. Economic Systems: The alarmists keep telling us their concern about global warming is all about man’s stewardship of the environment. But we know that’s not true. A United Nations official has now confirmed this.

    At a news conference Feb 10 2015 in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.

    “This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said.

    Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added: “This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”

    The only economic model in the last 150 years that has ever worked at all is capitalism. The evidence is prima facie: From a feudal order that lasted a thousand years, produced zero growth and kept workdays long and lifespans short, the countries that have embraced free-market capitalism have enjoyed a system in which output has increased 70-fold, work days have been halved and lifespans doubled.

  235. First of all, thank you Climate Depot for making it easy to comment. It seems the more liberal leaning sites make it really difficult to comment or at least much harder to. Let’s put a positive spin on global warming, whether man is contributing much to it or not. Think of all the tropical plants you could grow further north of the equator. Not so cold, don’t you hate being cold? I’d rather be too warm than too cold any day. There should be more moisture in the air, probably more rain. Sounds like a good thing to me. OK, think of how different the weather is than it was 30 years ago. Look how much the oceans have risen OMG!, be afraid! plplplplplplp, the gov doesn’t have to make up problems for you, you can make up enough of your own. They are using the global climate change scare to charge you, aka, “carbon taxes”. The plan is to send that $ to “poor” countries to “level the playing field”, “pay for injustices to those countries caused by the US”, there is a video out there of the president saying that, I watched it. The plan is to give them a chance to compete with other countries giving them a better quality of life. Global warming by “well-to-do” countries harmed the poorer ones, time to pay up, that’s the idea, documented, I saw the video. I bet it’s hard to find that video now(?) I don’t even care so not going to look for it.

  238. When will people learn. The problem with “climate scientists” is that they never actually studied science (rather than learned pieces of data) and, specifically, the language of mathematics. It is like doctors who never spent time learning about medicines. Even predicting the weather requires extreme levels of mathematical analysis. The temperature of the planet defies ANY analysis with current techniques so the answer is WE DO NOT KNOW the effect that humans will have because the SUN and volcanoes are far bigger factors in the equation. All the stupid computer models are weak at best. But because politicians will fund this work (they can never be shown to be wrong because all the efforts are not quantifiable – i.e. no one has bothered even putting together a null hypothesis on climate change so there is NO case where weather could be such that someone who believed in climate change will say there is proof it didn’t happen.
    The fact is that there is LOT more work to be done before this problem is solved and there is a FAR more important issue which is understandable right now. This is pollution – and this CAN be fixed and will help millions maybe billions of people.
    But no one , not even the so called “scientists” actually care about the facts when they can pay for film stars to pollute the world as they travel around complaining about global warming…
    Oh, and as a side note : Were the children all wearing clothes with made with zero carbon footprint? Me thinks those clothes were a little too shiny for this to be the case…

  251. I never see it mentioned that PLANTS and all vegetation depend on on C02 for the photosynthesis process to grow. Vegetation breaks down CO2 into carbon and OXYGEN. Oxygen which human and animal lives depend on to breath and live. More CO2= More vegetation= more oxygen for us to breath you weather channel dolts! Agree with the little kids, then take away they cell phones & computers, take away all of their TV’s, allow only one light to be on at a time, make them walk to school, cut the grass with a push mower, only one shower or bath a week, no heating or AC as it is man-made. I remember all of these things not even being invented and somehow, my generation survived. Oh, one other thing. Go to your local School District leader and tell him………..”You’re out of here, Idiot”! There are your children, why do you allow them to make demands, who in the home is the “Grown-up”!
