The cancer, I think, is spread far deeper than Pachauri alone. Also, note, it was not the UN, but the Indian justice system that got him. Clearly, whoever is going to replace him, will be no better. Anyone expecting better from the UN is simply naïve.

Antarctic ice has been greatly expanding since

In the medieval warming period, it was much
warmer than today, even without automobiles and industrialization.
Virtually all current “climate change science”
consists of computer modelling, based on
mathematics and atmospheric-ocean-land interactions. These ignore such variables as the Sun, the
cosmos, bacteria, history, and the geological processes that take place beneath
our feet. Computer models and climate
science cannot predict weather beyond one week, never mind hundreds of
years. Modelers do not even have
confidence in their own models.
We are currently in an Ice Age that started 37
million years ago.
Unfortunately I fear that Pachauri’s exit wont change much in the IPCC. His replacement will no doubt be a similar idealogue so his/her actions will be similar.
Established organisations like the IPCC dont change their approach quickly so all I see for the future is more politicly based CAGW statement and, more summary’s for policy makers that dont reflect the scientific evidence in their AR’s.
It’ll be same old, same old…….
When Pachaurii was elected chairman of the IPCC on 20 April 2002, it was a display of blatant moral corruption. The IPCC, together with its creators – WMO and UNEP – are morally bankrupt in relation to their dangerous man-made global warming deception agenda.
