Green Allegiance: EPA pushes climate pledge on America’s school children – EPA Chief: ‘We’ve had 4.3 million people take this pledge already, and we want you to take it too’

Speaking to classrooms across America in a live virtual event, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy presses for school children to take EPA’s Energy Star climate pledge to “become part of the climate solution.” McCarthy: “Get those pledges in. Work with your schools. Work with your community. Bug your family at home to recycle and do all the great things.”

When asked by a student what careers to consider if they’re interested in protecting the environment, McCarthy says: “Come work at EPA… If you like numbers, we always have room for you, cause how do you think we do all that accounting to figure out what your carbon footprint is? We have lots of people working here that do that type of work.”

EPA ADMINISTRATOR GINA MCCARTHY: “There is so much you can do to become part of the climate solution.”

HOST KYLE SCHUTT: “What’s your favorite part about the pledge and what young people are doing?”

MCCARTHY: “I think the greatest part about the pledge for young people, and when old people take it cause we’ve had 4.3 million people take this pledge already, and we want you to take it too.”

SCHUTT: “That’s a big number. That’s a lot of people.”

MCCARTHY: “Well, that’s because we need everybody… It’s not just about light bulbs. It’s about appliances. It’s about riding your bike instead of riding in a car. It’s about what kind of car you drive. Can you buy one that’s more efficient? Can you use renewable resources in that car, like ethanol? There’s lots of choices that you can make that actually lower that footprint, and you’ll never miss it.”

STUDENT: “What is being done to make schools and homes more environmentally friendly?”

MCCARTHY: “Well, Madison, that’s a great question cause it means you’re not just paying attention but you actually want to be part of the solution. And, it’s really important cause we need to hear kids voices cause it’s your world, and you’re going to be the stewards of that world coming up. Now there’s lots of things you can do. At your school you can pull together a green team or environmental club. We’ve seen it in lots of schools where people go around and check out their schools, see where there’s inefficiencies, make suggestions to the principle and to the school boards on how you can get more efficient. Obama’s Climate Agenda: $73 Billion A Year Avoid Potential 0.2 Degrees Of Warming

President Barack Obama’s plan to fight global warming will cost Americans $73 billion a year and avoid less than two-tenths of a degree Celsius of projected warming, according to a new report on what it would cost the U.S. to comply with a potential United Nations treaty.

Obama promised to reduce U.S. carbon dioxide emissions 26 to 28 percent by 2025. This was meant to get a pledge for China to peak emissions by 2030 and galvanize support for a U.N. climate treaty. But living up to Obama’s emissions pledge will cost Americans.…

Via France 24: Philippe Verdier, a household name in France for his daily weather reports on the France 2 channel, announced in an online video that he had received a letter of dismissal.

“My book ‘Climate Investigation’ was published one month ago. It got me banned from the air waves,” said the weatherman, who was put “on leave” from the TV station on October 12.

Back To The Dark Ages: Update: Top French Meteorologist Who Questioned ‘Global Warming’ Fired

“I received this letter this morning and decided to open it in front of you because it concerns everybody- in the name of freedom of expression and freedom of information.”

His announcement comes four days after France Télévisions chief Delphine Ernotte told French MPs that Verdier had been summoned to a formal interview that could lead to his dismissal.

An employee who picked up the phone at France Télévisions on Sunday morning told FRANCE 24 that there were no PRs present to confirm or deny Verdier’s dismissal.

‘Many positive consequences to global warming’

The controversy around Verdier’s claims has likely been heightened by their timing, with his book coming just weeks before the start of a much-anticipated UN climate change summit, known as COP21, to be held in Paris at the end of November.

“I put myself in the path of COP21, which is a bulldozer, and this is the result,” Verdier told RTL radio station in October.

He said he was inspired to write the book after France’s Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius met with TV meteorologists and asked them to highlight climate change issues in their broadcasts.

“I was horrified by this speech,” Verdier told French magazine Les Inrockuptibles last month.

In his book, Verdier accuses state-funded climate change scientists of having been “manipulated” and “politicised”, even accusing the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of publishing deliberately misleading data.

He also argues that there are “a great many positive consequences to global warming”, such as lower consumption of fuel used for heating and fewer cold-related deaths in winter.

“I am being punished for exercising my freedom of expression,” the weatherman told RTL.`

Nearly half of Senate challenges Obama carbon dioxide rules

http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/10/27/us-usa-climatechange-congress-idUKKCN0SL2DO20151027

Nearly half of the U.S. Senate supports a resolution to challenge the Obama administration’s regulation cutting carbon emissions from power plants, the core of the United States’ broader climate change strategy, sponsors of the measure said on Tuesday.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, backed a resolution introduced on Monday night by Republican Senator Shelley Moore Capito and Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp disapproving of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan. Backers of the resolution said 49 senators in the 100-member chamber support it.

Forty-seven senators backed a separate McConnell-sponsored resolution to challenge a related EPA rule that sets emissions standards for the construction of new coal-fired power plants.…

John Kerry is ‘Coming For Your Refrigerator’

http://www.frontpagemag.com/point/260649/john-kerry-coming-your-refrigerator-daniel-greenfield

We’re losing the war on ISIS, but it’s okay, because according to the increasingly insane Democratic Party, the real national security threat is your refrigerator or maybe your air conditioner. After we banned CFCs and replaced them with HCFs to “save the planet”, we now have to ban HCFs to “save the planet” from the Flying Global Warming Monster.…
