We have used the Model for the Assessment of Greenhouse-gas Induced Climate Change (MAGICC)—a simple climate model emulator that was, in part, developed through support of the EPA—to examine the climate impact of proposed regulations.
MAGICC version 6 is available as an on-line tool.
We analyzed the climate impact of the new EPA regulations by modifying future emissions scenarios that have been established by the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), to reflect the new EPA proposed emissions targets.

Symbolism trumps rational thought! The fact that WE are “doing something,” and if every one of the 196 countries do at least as much as US, we will avoid 1.7 degrees C of warming! Luckily, China won’t have much problem doing this…they could cut down from 3 new coal fired power plants a week to 2. North Korea is already doing it’s part! But poor Vatican City – everyone there will have to stop breathing to achieve the same level of cuts that these regulations hope to achieve!
The whole point of “global warming” is to have an excuse to put draconian regulations on all of industry (and on individuals) so that the eco-terrorists can use the force of law to drive living conditions back into the stone age. It isn’t about the “climate change.” It’s about power — plain and simple.
I did more for that planet than that by cutting my winter fuel use.
I only burned two enviros in the stove instead of three.
