Christiana Figueres has not been twiddling her fingers since stepping down from the UNFCCC. Instead, she is at the forefront of the campaign group, Mission 2020.

They have recently issued this press release:

The report on which these recommendations are based was called “2020: The Climate Turning Point”.

So how realistic are its findings?

It starts by underlining just how meaningless the whole Paris shebang was in terms of reducing emissions.

As we are all aware, the declared aim of Paris, to keep warming below 2C, was not met by actions. Even if we assume that CO2 emissions have any significant effect on temperatures, emissions would have to fall off the edge of a cliff after 2030 to meet that target.

Mission 2020 want drastic action to start before 2020, in order to make this plummet not quite as steep.…

GLOBAL WARMING: Eating INSECTS ‘could help tackle climate change’

Replacing half of the meat eaten worldwide with crickets and mealworms would cut farmland use by a third, substantially reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, researchers say.

While consumers’ reluctance to eat insects may limit their consumption, even a small increase would bring benefits, the team says.

This could potentially be achieved by using insects as ingredients in some pre-packaged foods.

Researchers say that replacing meat with crickets and mealworms could help tackle climate change

Using data collected primarily by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization, scientists compared the environmental impacts of conventional meat production with those of alternative sources of food.

It is the first study to do so.

They said it would cut farmland use which would reduce emissions of greenhouse gases

Researchers at the University of Edinburgh and Scotland’s Rural College considered a scenario in which half of the current mix of animal products is replaced by insects, lab-grown meat or imitation meat.

The environmental challenges facing the global agricultural industry are increasing

Dr Peter Alexander

They found that insects and imitation meat – such as soybean-based foods like tofu – are the most sustainable as they require the least land and energy to produce.

Beef is by far the least sustainable, the team says.

In contrast to previous studies, lab-grown meat was found to be no more sustainable than chicken or eggs, requiring an equivalent area of land but using more energy in production.

Dem Congressional Candidate Says Climate Skeptics Should Commit Suicide Via Car Exhaust

By Onan Coca and Jeff Dunetz

Rob Quist is the Democratic Party candidate for Montana’s at-large seat in Congress left vacant by Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke… Quist, who among his other talent is a folk singer popular at nudist resorts in the great state of Montana has an interesting way of trying to win over voters… he suggests that if they aren’t sure about climate change they should try… killing themselves yep he  believes they should lock themselves in their garage with their cars on and see what happens.

Now the Democratic candidate promises  on campaign website that he will bring the “values of rural Montana” with him to Congress if elected. What is not certain is he talking about nudist camps being the values of rural Montana or is he talking about suicide.

On a televised debate, Quist was given the last chance to comment on climate change when he made his strange recommendation.

“This is something that the entire world needs to address,” Quist said. “If any those of you that feel like this is not a problem, I challenge you to go into your car in your garage, start your car, and see what happens there.”

Quist doesn’t seem to understand the difference between carbon monoxide (which is the chemical emission from your car) and carbon dioxide (which is the supposed problem gas in the climate change fear mongering scenario). Perhaps his brain is fried from looking at all of those nudist senior citizens.  However, what makes this even worse is that carbon dioxide is essential to life on earth. In fact, the more carbon dioxide, the healthier our planet becomes and while yes, it could technically warm the earth… that warming could actually solve more problems for our planet than it creates

Raw Emotion, Not Science, on Display at People’s Climate March

By WILLIAM M BRIGGS Published on April 29, 20171 Comment

… and the worst are full of passionate intensity.

Madness. Last week came March for Science spokesmodel Bill Nye and his perversions passing for “science.” Now comes shifty George Soros with his tens of millions injected into the populace to stir up heated feelings of “science.”

We resist, they say. We build, they claim. We rise, they threaten.

These declarations are from the homepage of the People’s Climate March, as brave and as forthright as any communist slogan.

Did they say climate march? Not quite. Instead, a mob gathered for, in their words, “climate, jobs, and justice.” Jobs? Justice?

What happened, you might ask, to global warming? Forgotten. Well, it’s impolite to mention it because, of course, it has gone missing. The planet’s top scientists, having spent billions in the search, are more than a little embarrassed about not being able to find it. It’s gauche to mention it, so let’s leave them in peace and maybe, at long last, and after spending a few billion more, they’ll surprise us all.

Let’s instead talk about these marchers. Why do they say they “rise”? Well, they want to “immediately stop attacks on immigrants, communities of color, indigenous and tribal people and lands and workers.”

Global warming has been attacking immigrants?

Climate march in Denver to feature a ‘die in’: ‘People wearing black will lay on the ground as if they are dead’

The Denver protest, the biggest one planned for the state, includes staging a so-called “die in,” according to event planners. “We will be doing an Aerial Image,” event planners wrote on the protest website. “A section of that will include a ‘die in’, where people wearing black will lay on the ground as if they are dead. We expect the visual effect to be stunning. If you’re comfortable participating, please wear all black to the event.”

Up to 2 Foot Snow Blast Putting ‘Global Warming’ Protests On Ice In Colorado

BY STAFF APRIL 28, 2017 – Western Wire

The threat of a major snowstorm is already putting Denver-area climate marches on ice. With the Washington Post reporting on how the “sweltering heat” in our nation’s capital is providing a relevant backdrop for the “People’s Climate March” tomorrow, the foot of snow expected in Colorado tomorrow has already postponed one of the several planned protests in the state.

Organized by groups seeking to ban the production of oil, natural gas, and coal, including 350.org, Sierra Club, and NextGen Climate, the “People’s Climate March” is occurring tomorrow in Washington, D.C., and cities across the country to protest the Trump administration’s environmental policies.

With the Washington protest reportedly expected to draw tens of thousands of attendees, hundreds of “sister marches” are planned for cities across the country. But one out of the twelve protests in Colorado has already been postponed due to an impending snowstorm. The National Weather Service’s winter storm warning projects six to 12 inches of snow, but there is potential for up to two feet in the Denver Metro Area.…

People’s Climate March: ‘A Demonstration Of First World Madness’

Organizers are expecting 100,000 to turn out Saturday for the Peoples Climate March in Washington. A better name for it, though, would be the Mass Virtue-Signaling Exhibition. Or how about the Grown Children Acting Up for Attention Demonstration?

Has there ever been another event in which so many were so desperate to demonstrate their moral superiority? To show that they care? To commit a futile and stupid gesture that’s meaningful only in their minds?

Of course every one of the marchers will arrive at their destination via some form of non-carbon spewing transportation, right? They’ll all ride bikes, walk, drive rubber-band powered cars, and run like Forrest Gump, won’t they?

Or maybe not. One report says “300 buses are already booked, coming from across the country” to Washington. And if Al Gore appears, it’s a better-than-even bet that he’ll fly in on a private jet, spewing carbon dioxide all the way there and back. Just as the Union of Concerned Scientists says, “Together, we can tackle global warming.”

But the climate march is about more than climate. It’s a means to call for line items of the usual left-wing wish list, including “good paying jobs that provide a family-sustaining wage and benefits and preserve workers’ rights, including the right to unionize.” Marchers will apparently also demand the funding of “investments in our communities, people, and environment to transition to a new clean and renewable energy economy that works for all, not an economy that feeds the machinery of war.”

And maybe a portrait of Lenin in every home, too.

The lineup of this grand rally begins with the Protectors of Justice, which will include, according to peoplesclimate.org, “indigenous, frontline environmental and climate justice communities.” Just behind that group are the Creators of Sanctuary. They are “immigrants, LGBTQI, women, Latinos, waterkeepers, food sovereignty and land rights” activists. Only at the end do we find the “environmentalists” and “climate activists.”

Yeah, this is all about saving the planet.

The Heritage Foundation reports that “the same agitators behind the riots on the day of President Trump’s inauguration are helping to organize the upcoming People’s Climate March,” which is no surprise.…

Climate activist Laurie David quits retirement after Trump win: ‘After the election, it took me two weeks to just stop crying’

Via Yahoo: https://www.yahoo.com/movies/hollywood-gearing-week-science-environmental-activism-230104029.html

By Peter Kiefer – The Hollywood Reporter –

Laurie David had planned to retire from life as a political activist and Hollywood bundler and pass the baton to a new generation. Then along came President Donald Trump.

“After the election, it took me two weeks to just stop crying. I was just anticipating what was to come and what has come was worse than what I was crying about,” David told The Hollywood Reporter. “We lived through George Bush, we lived through Newt Gingrich, but that is nothing compared to what is happening.”

With two national marches planned over the next seven days – the Science March on Saturday and the People’s Climate March a week later – David is back in action and renewing her efforts. Both marches are taking place in Washington, D.C., but sister marches are planned in hundreds of cities across the world including Los Angeles. The marches will bookend a star-studded “evening of comedy” event on Tuesday hosted by David for the Natural Resources Defense Council legal fund at the Wallis Annenberg Center, where Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Larry David are scheduled to perform. The response to the NRDC event has been overwhelming, says Laurie David.
