Obama Lauds ‘Historic Day’ in Fight Against Climate Change As UN Agreement To Take Effecdt

Calling it a “historic day” and a possible “turning point for the planet,” President Barack Obama lauded the landmark Paris climate agreement, which takes effect Nov. 4.

“This gives us the best possible shot to save the one planet we’ve got,” Obama said in remarks in the Rose Garden at the White House.

While the deal will help delay some of the most pressing threats posed by climate change, he said, it alone “will not solve the climate crisis.”

“No nation, not even one as powerful as ours, can solve this challenge alone. All of us have to solve it together,” Obama said.

Under the terms of the deal, it goes into effect 30 days after it is ratified by at least 55 signatory nations accounting for at least 55 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. Seventy-three countries — including some of the world’s largest emitters, like China, India and the U.S. — have now formally adopted the agreement.…

DiCaprio: Climate deniers ‘should not be allowed to hold public office’

Politicians who don’t believe in climate change should not hold public office, said actor Leonardo DiCaprio Monday at the White House before the screening of his new climate documentary.

“The scientific consensus is in and the argument is now over,” DiCaprio said at the White House’s South By South Lawn event.

“If you do not believe in climate change, you do not believe in facts, or in science or empirical truths and therefore, in my humble opinion, should not be allowed to hold public office.”

DiCaprio screened his film “Before the Flood,” a documentary about climate change. Ahead of the screening, he spoke on a panel with President Obama.

Obama called for the development of new technologies to address climate change, but stressed changes in policy and attitudes wouldn’t happen overnight.

“Climate change is almost perversely designed to be really hard to solve politically. It is a problem that creeps up on you,” Obama said.

“The political system in every country is not well designed to do something tough now to solve a problem that people will really feel the impact of in the future.”

In the film, DeCaprio travels to Greenland, the Pacific Islands, Sumatra and industrial regions of China to show the impacts of climate change.

DiCaprio, and the film’s director, Fisher Stevens, hope to use it in the run-up to next month’s presidential and Senate elections, according to The Guardian.

They plan to show it on college campuses and across swing states. It will be released via National Geographic later this month.…

Chelsea Clinton Takes Private Jet to ‘Clean Energy’ Conference

By Andrew Stiles|10:52 am, September 29, 2016

Chelsea Clinton was campaigning for her elderly mother in North Carolina on Wednesday — and showing off her Clinton-esque taste for expensive, carbon-emitting travel options.

After attending campaign events in Greenville, the former first daughter took a private jet to Asheville, just a five-hour drive away, to attend a roundtable event on “clean energy.” Asheville is a paradise for hippies who love the environment.

Here is the video of Chelsea boarding the fuel-guzzling beast, courtesy of the NTK Network:

The Clinton campaign promised during the Democratic primary that their entire operation would be “carbon neutral” and had some friendly reporters write stories about how even campaign manager John Podesta took the bus.

The campaign doesn’t talk about that pledge much anymore, given the how much the Clintons love flying on private jets, presumably out of class envy. They may be rich AF, but it must annoy them to have to attend campaign fundraiser with so many hedge fund managers who are even richer AF than they are and own their own private jets.

For example, Bill Clinton has flown on billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein‘s private jet, affectionately nicknamed the “Lolita Express,” on numerous occasions.

Hillary, meanwhile, hates flying on commercial aircraft with commoners; she oncedescribed it as “burdensome,” but that might also be due to the fact that she is very old and mobility challenged.

Flying on private jets, which are terrible for the environment, to attend allegedly pro-environment functions is a favorite pastime of ultra-wealthy celebrities, such as Leonardo DiCaprio.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A West Michigan 11-year-old is taking his knowledge of global climate change beyond the classroom.

Monday, Bryce Madder of Ada announced the launch of Polar Army, a nonprofit website to teach children about the impact global warming has on polar bears.

Bryce, a fifth-grader, spoke at the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, announcing that kids of all ages can now be a part of the Polar Army by posting pictures and paintings of polar bears.

“I first learned about global warming about a year ago. I was in school and I found out by 2040, all the world’s sea ice will disappear. By 2050, we could actually lose two-thirds of polar bears, and that just really bothered me,” Bryce said.

Founded by 11 year old, Bryce Madder, Polar Army is an educational Non-Profit Company for kids dedicated to saving polar bears. Polar Army aims to educate children about global warming, its impact on the Arctic, and ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. It does this through a global art initiative, youth ambassador program, school partnerships, brand/corporate sponsors, and business collaborations.

Black Lives Matter: ‘The climate crisis is a racist crisis’

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

Black Lives Matter has gone Climate in a big way, with a protest which shut down London City Airport. London City Airport is a premium facility located in the heart of London, near one of London’s major financial / banking districts.

Black Lives Matter protest stops flights at London City airport

Police arrest seven of nine people chained to tripod on runway in protest against impact of air pollution on black people.

Flights have been cancelled at London’s City airport after nine protesters from Black Lives Matter UK got on to the runway and chained themselves together.

The airport said all flights were disrupted and that police were at the scene.

The campaign said it carried out the protest to highlight the environmental impact of air travel on the lives of black people locally and globally.

It posted images of protesters lying on the runway after unfurling banners.

The group issued a video that said the reason for the protest was that the climate crisis was a “racist crisis”.

The BLM video;

By 2050 there will be 200 million climate refugees. Black people are the first to die, not the first to fly, in this racist climate crisis.

Climate crisis is a racist crisis. Cut emissions. Open borders..

If Black Lives Matter really cared about Africa, they might have made an effort to discover that despite dire predictions nobody has yet managed to produce a genuine climate refugee. They might also have discovered that climate policies are having a devastating effect on native Africans, who in some cases are being evicted from their homes by violent gangsters, to make way for palm oil biofuel plantations.…

Sen Reid brags about threatening coal industry: ‘I will do everything I can to hurt your investments, your company’ – ‘I won, they lost.’

Speaking to the Nevada Lambda Business Association, Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid recalls how he successfully threatened utility executives over the planned construction of “four or five” coal-fired power plants in Nevada: “I told them, ‘You will rue the day you do that…I will do everything I can to hurt your investments, your company.” Senator Reid says, “I won, they lost.”

But here in Nevada we don’t even have—NV Energy has not been the biggest help. We had companies come here wanting to spend money [inaudible] but they ended up pulling away [inaudible] they lost large amounts of money. [inaudible] is doing the accounting now and he’s doing a lot better now, but there’s still a lot they need to do. They announced that they—because you know, I came out there—but a number of years ago and I learned they were going to build four to five new coal fire generating plants in Nevada. Why? Because it’s pristine. Out there, nobody complains. I complained. My staff and everybody said “why are you doing that? You’re going to hurt yourself.” And maybe I did. But I won, they lost.

I called two of the companies that built plants there and I told them go ahead and do it, but I am going to do everything to hurt investments in your company. So they decided perhaps—decided to get rid of the coal plants. We don’t have a coal fire generated plant open since Reid-Gardner. And it was 40 years [inaudible]. Yesterday, they announced they announced it is going to close a year early. There’s only one coal fire plant left in Nevada and that’s on its way out too. So we’re making progress in Nevada.

Reid has talked about his efforts to keep coal plants out of Nevada, but he’s never admitted to threatening company executives.

Watch: ‘Top 12 Climate Change Lies Exposed’

3,200 Greens Strip Naked And Paint Bodies Blue For Global Warming

Sen Whitehouse: It’s a ‘problem… that the uniformed military has been reluctant’ to ‘fight’ climate change

After claiming that climate denial in the US “hurts” American soldiers deployed overseas, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse says it’s a “problem” that America’s “uniformed military has been reluctant” to engage in the “fight” against climate change. Whitehouse also says that the Navy is “starting to evaluate their base commanders on how well they communicate the risk of climate change”.

SENATOR SHELDON WHITEHOUSE: “The problem has been that the uniformed military has been reluctant to put its voice into– or its image into this fight. So, you’ve got the civilians, you’ve got the Quadrennial Defense Reviews, you’ve got the intelligence estimates, you’ve got the statements from our head of CINCPAC back when Admiral Locklear that this was the threat in the Pacific more than any other likely to disrupt things in a way that would disturb American interests. But, it’s hard to put a panel of people in uniform in front of the Environmental and Public Works Committee and say, you know, I’m a general, I’m an Admiral, I’m the head of the Marine Corps, we’re telling you–. What the Navy has done that’s been really interesting, Ray Maybus said he’s starting to actually evaluate his– you know, the military lives by evaluation– they’re starting to evaluate their base commanders on how well they communicate the risk of climate change about the base. So, if you’re the base commander of Norfolk, or of Naval Station Newport, or of– what is it, Cherry Creek Marine Air Station in North Carolina– you are suddenly have on your checklist of what you’re evaluated on how well you’ve communicated what the risk of climate change is. And, for those bases, for Navy bases particularly, it’s a really real risk. They’re on the sea. Sea level rise is going to swamp what they do. It’s really practical. So, when people hear it from as trusted a source as a uniformed military officer it will make a big difference, and they have not been very forward about it from the uniform side of the military. DOD has been good. Mabus has been the best.”
