The Weather Channel video uses young kids to promote ‘global warming’ fears – ‘Dear Mom & Dad, climate change could be very catastrophic’
Excerpts:
Kids: ‘Dear Mom and Dad: ‘The science is clear’
‘This is about our families health’
‘Climate change is real, it’s bad and it’s caused by humans.’
‘97% of scientists agree that global warming started decades ago.’
‘Dear Mom and Dad, science says that the impact of climate change could be very catastrophic during my lifetime.’
‘Rising sea levels would displace millions.’
‘A major threat to national security.’

Climate Depot Note: All of these climate change claims put forth by the kids (and the adults) are easily debunked. Here is Climate Depot’s official climate talking points file, just released. CLIMATE TRUTH FILE: 2016: Skeptical Talking Points from A-Z on Global Warming – Point-By-Point
And all of these climate claims are addressed in the new skeptical film ‘Climate Hustle’ out on DVD now. www.ClimateHustle.com

Update: Weather Channel Founder John Coleman rips his old network for ‘immoral’ kids video: “Right or wrong, using children to promote a point of view boarders on immoral. Even knowing that climate change is not happening, it is far beneath my values to use children to promote this truth,” Coleman said in an exclusive interview with Climate Depot.
…Coleman continued: “The people who produced this video may believe that man-made climate change is underway and that the future of life on Earth is in the balance. They may feel the use of children to warn us about this is totally appropriate. If the people who produced this video don’t know if man-made climate change is actually happening, but their income from government funding depends on it, so they come up with the idea of using children to make an emotional appeal, this would be shameful and border on abuse.
I do not know which of the above situations is valid, but….
I know without a doubt that there is no significant threat to the future climate of Earth from the industrialized civilization we have created and the drastic climate changes predicted by the Al Gore clan and the

Leonardo DiCaprio: ‘I will fly around the world doing good for the environment’
In 2007, Former Vice President Al Gore appeared at the academy award 79th ceremonies in Hollywood with fellow climate activist Leonardo DiCaprio.
But just before they walked on stage, the Oscar ceremony was touting the greening of the ceremony and how ordinary Americans can lower their impact on the planet and global warming.
Columnist Charles Krauthammer writing in Time Mag (On March 16, 2007) said his personal favorite was: “Ride mass transit.” On screen text or VO – “This to a conclave of Hollywood plutocrats who have not seen the inside of a subway since the moon landing and for whom mass transit means a stretch limo seating no fewer than 10.”
(Cimate Depot asks: Ride mass transit? This brings up an obvious question, when was the last time Gore or DiCaprio rode a city bus?)
Climate Depot’s Morano on Sun News with Ezra Levant’s ‘The Source’ on Leonardo DiCaprio:
Morano: ‘This is someone who does nothing but carbon dioxide belches. He’s perverting the language. we are talking about carbon dioxide. We are carbon based as humans. We inhale oxygen and we exhale carbon dioxide at 40,000 ppm in our breath. So if CO2 is poison, then human beings are nothing but poison machines.
Dem VP Nominee Kaine Compares Fighting Global Warming to a Twelve-Step Program
While speaking at Florida International University, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine compared fighting global warming to participating in a twelve-step program and accused Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and vice presidential candidate Mike Pence of “turning their back on science.”
Kaine began his remarks on climate change by saying climate change “affects your ability to sell your house, affects your ability to own a business, affects your neighborhoods”:
In Florida and Virginia, we’re worried about climate change. In south Florida, you see the affects of sea level rise. And we see the same thing in Virginia Beach and Norfolk and Portsmouth, Virginia. The sea levels rising affects your ability to sell your house, affects your ability to own a business, affects your neighborhoods, affects the main road into the largest naval base in the world, in Norfolk, Virginia. Just normal tidal action and when storms come, it’s even worse. And you see that here in south Miami.
In his remarks, Kaine compared defeating climate change to a twelve-step program. According to Kaine, unless you admit climate change is a problem, you are not going to break the cycle and defeat it:
Look, I don’t know how much you know about twelve-step programs. Twelve-step programs are when you’re trying to lick a problem. Step one: admit that you have a problem. If you can’t get to step one, you’re not going to get to step twelve. You aren’t even going to get to step two. You gotta admit you have a problem. And we’ve got a problem with climate change.
Kaine then applauded Obama’s climate change effort and asserted a Clinton administration would move in the same direction:
…The good news is this. President Obama worked in a leadership way to get 197 nations in Paris to all agree, these are the steps we’re going to take in our own country to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to try to slow down the pace of climate change. President Obama should get a lot of credit for that. It’s hard to get Congress to do a Mother’s Day resolution. To get 197 nations to do that?
And Hillary and I are going to carry that forward and invest in clean no and low carbon energy so that we can move down the path and help save our planet and create jobs at the same time. But Donald Trump and Mike Pence…
EPA Chief invokes God: ‘What in God’s name can anyone say to climate deniers that would make them figure it out?’

ADMINISTRATOR GINA MCCARTHY: “So, people have to start living a life that’s commensurate with reductions in greenhouse gases to the extent they can, but also as you said demand government to be responsive to this. But, I would waste no time with climate deniers. If they haven’t figured it out by now, what in God’s name can anyone say to them that would make them figure it out. The science is overwhelming. I don’t check out flat earth society, and I’m not talking to climate deniers. That’s it.”
ANDREW FREEDMAN: “I hear you.”
ADMINISTRATOR MCCARTHY: “Sorry. I know that I’m supposed to be for everybody but my patience has worn thin over eight years and twenty years before that talking about this issue.”
ANDREW FREEDMAN: “No, I hear you. I hear you.”

Coal CEO Bob Murray: ‘It’s a tragedy what’s happening in the coal fields…Obama is the greatest destroyer America’s had’
Robert Murray, CEO of Murray Energy.
According to Murray, the Obama administration’s policies are hurting the lowest income families, saying there were about 35,000 jobs lost in the coal industry this year and 60,000 in all.
“It’s a tragedy what’s happening in the coal fields, with the destruction of lives, by Barack Obama, who is the greatest destroyer America’s had. And Mrs. Clinton says ‘I will expand on those policies,’” he said.

Murray, who has been outspoken about Hillary Clinton’s energy policy, also reiterated why her clean energy push is “all about money.”

“She’s getting millions of dollars from the manufacturers of solar panels and windmills…She said these people need this government help. These are the richest billionaires of the country that are kicking in to the Clinton Foundation, to the Clinton campaign, to build windmills and solar panels because it requires a subsidy. Coal stands in the way of that,” he argued.
America’s most influential enviro McKibben: Use America’s defense budget to fight climate war
Via The HARRY READ ME File: Described by the Boston Globe as “America’s most important environmentalist”, 350.org founder Bill McKibben says America’s defense budget must “be put to work defending us against the most dangerous adversaries we face” — climate change.
BILL MCKIBBEN: “It should be possible to build large quantities of solar panels and turbine blades, and it should be possible to put lots of people at work on good jobs doing that, okay? And it should be a huge priority, and if you think we don’t have the money then you’re not paying attention. We have things like the defense budget that need to be put to work defending us against the most dangerous adversaries we face. The conceit of that New Republic piece was that we are in fact already at war though we do not really recognize it. But, by all the measures that we normally count as warfare, that’s what’s going on. We’re losing territory day by day. People are being killed day by day in great numbers. There will probably be added to that death toll tonight someplace along the coast of Florida. We’re at war, we’re just not fighting back, and the time has come to do that, and it will take as the history of WWII shows, government leadership to make that happen. It will take a concentrated national effort and a concentrated international effort to make that happen. It won’t happen on its own, it requires leadership.”

Warmist James Hansen calls UN Paris agreement ‘wishful thinking’ – Offers 4 Reasons Why It ‘Won’t Solve Climate Change’
Many hail the Paris agreement—set to cross the threshold this week to come into effect—as a panacea for global climate change. Yet tragically, this perspective neglects to take into account the scientific reality of our climate system, which tells a much different story.
Our latest research, Young People’s Burden: Requirement of Negative CO2 Emissions, appeared Monday as a “Discussion” paper in Earth System Dynamics Discussion, and outlines how—if national governments neglect to take aggressive climate action today—today’s young people will inherit a climate system so altered it will require prohibitively expensive—and possibly infeasible—extraction of CO2 from the atmosphere.
…
Four key takeaways include:
1. The Paris Climate Accord is a precatory agreement, wishful thinking that mainly reaffirms, 23 years later, the 1992 Rio Framework Convention on Climate Change. The developing world need for abundant, affordable, reliable energy is largely ignored, even though it is a basic requirement to eliminate global poverty and war. Instead the developed world pretends to offer reparations, a vaporous $100B/year, while allowing climate impacts to grow.
2. As long as fossil fuels are allowed to be held up as the cheapest reliable energy, they will continue to be the world’s largest energy source and the likelihood of disastrous consequences for young people will grow to near certainty.
3. Technically, it is still possible to solve the climate problem, but there are two essential requirements: (1) a simple across-the-board rising carbon fee collected from fossil fuel companies at the source, and (2) government support for RD&D (research, development and demonstration) of clean energy technologies, including advanced generation, safe nuclear power.
4. Courts are crucial to solution of the climate problem. The climate “problem” was and is an opportunity for transformation to a clean energy future. However, the heavy hand of the fossil fuel industry works mostly in legal ways such as the “I’m an Energy Voter” campaign in the U.S. Failure of executive and legislative branches to deal with climate change makes it essential for courts, less subject to pressure and bribery from special financial interests, to step in and protect young people, as they did minorities in the case of civil rights.…
What?? NBC’s Ron Allen Thinks UN Climate Deal Is ‘Designed to Stop’ Storms Like Hurricane Matthew
President Barack Obama spoke to reporters on Wednesday afternoon in the White House Rose Garden commenting on the required number of nations having ratified the Paris climate change agreement and, almost on cue, NBC’s Ron Allen connected global warming to Hurricane Matthew set to bear down on the Bahamas, the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida.
Speaking on MSNBC Live to host Kate Snow, Allen first gushed about how the President“believes so deeply in protecting the environment” that the deal marks “one of the most significant aspects of his legacy” before bringing in Hurricane Matthew as a intriguing “practical matter.”
In making the following comments, Allen failed to realize that there hasn’t been a major Atlantic Hurricane to crack the top ten in intensity in nine years and if it comes ashore, Matthew would be the first major hurricane to make landfall in the U.S. since Hurricane Wilma in 2005:
…[I]t’s very interesting that this is happening a day when there’s a hurricane bearing down on the United States and in the Caribbean because these severe storms, beach erosions, intense weather episodes that we’ve had is perhaps the most practical sample of what the president was talking about as the threat that the planet faces[.]
