Democrats – Global warming is too important to wait for democracy?

This comes from Bernie Sanders’ website.

According to the Vermont Senator’s website, the Democratic Party draft platform reads:

“Democrats believe that climate change is too important to wait for climate deniers and defeatists in Congress to start listening to science, and support using every tool available to reduce emissions now.”

Too important to wait for Congress? Why would anyone who values freedom vote for Hillary?

Sanders: ‘This election is about climate change’

(No title)

Sanders: “This election is about climate change”And he said it with Hildabeest alongside him nodding like a bobble-headed doll. Lets hope the both of them continue to hammer that message. All the polls put climate change way down in people’s priorities. Trump has got the subject right: Immigration. It would be exquisite if climate change cost Hillary the electionBernie Sanders officially threw in the towel on Tuesday in New Hampshire by endorsing Hillary Clinton for president. Hitting on the themes his campaign has stressed throughout the primaries, Sanders laid out what this election is really about. One of his themes has been climate change, which featured heavily in his speech:”This election is about climate change, the greatest environmental crisis facing our planet, and the need to leave this world in a way that is healthy and habitable for our kids and future generations.Hillary Clinton is listening to the scientists who tell us that if we do not act boldly in the very near future there will be more drought, more floods, more acidification of the oceans, more rising sea levels. She understands that we must work with countries around the world in transforming our energy system away from fossil fuels and into energy efficiency and sustainable energy — and that when we do that we can create a whole lot of good paying jobs.Donald Trump: Well, like most Republicans, he chooses to reject science — something no presidential candidate should do. He believes that climate change is a hoax. In fact, he wants to expand the use of fossil fuel. That would be a disaster for our country and our planet”The endorsement rally was kicked off by climate activist (and Grist board member) Bill McKibben. “Secretary Clinton, we wish you Godspeed in the fight that now looms,” McKibben said.SOURCEThe “97%” hit with logicIn a video for Prager University, author Alex Epstein address the highly touted claim, “97% of climate scientists agree that climate change is real.” Epstein debunks this shoddy assertion with a simple analogy — the side effects vs. overall health risks of vaccinations.SOURCEGlobal warming pause continues as temperatures continue to plummetSatellite temperatures show no statistical difference with June 2016 temperatures and 1998’s, showing a steep drop in global temps once El Nino ended.According to the now-finalized RSS satellite-derived June 2016 temperatures, measurements show that the global warming pause (or hiatus) is on track to resume …

Don’t let the planet Bern! ‘Bernie Sanders’ policies would increase global warming’ – Warmists lament Sanders climate plan –

But a careful look at Sanders’ actual proposals tells a different story. He proposes to retire the nation’s nuclear reactors, which are the nation’s largest source of zero-carbon energy and generate 20% of the nation’s electricity and 60% of its zero-carbon power. Doing so would result in power sector emissions rising over 20% by 2050.

Sanders has vowed if elected to rewrite the Obama administration’s Clean Power Plan(which primarily restricts coal use) to make it tougher on natural gas. Doing so wouldgut the rule. Regulation of carbon emissions from the power sector under provisions of the Clean Air Act depends almost entirely on the Environmental Protection Agency’s determination that cheap natural gas generation is the “best available” alternative to coal power plants.…

Democratic Debate Puts Fossil Fuel Industry on Notice

Perhaps it was the rising seas lapping on the doors of the debate hall in Miami last night, but for the first time this election the public got a raucous and spirited debate between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton over the climate policies they would support as president.

“The moderators finally broke their climate silence and the public got what it has been waiting for: a real debate about who will do the most to combat climate change,” said Jamie Henn, a spokesperson for 350 Action.

“Voters across the country are looking for a leader who is willing to stand up to the fossil fuel industry and accelerate a just transition to 100 percent renewable energy. We need to hear more on this issue in the months to come.”…

Bernie Sanders goes ‘carbon-neutral’ as Hillary Clinton breaks pledge

Mrs. Clinton, by contrast, appears to be breaking her own pledge to go carbon-neutral.

Despite assuring reporters last summer, after being caught flying in a private jet, that she would pay to offset greenhouse gases from her campaign travels, Mrs. Clinton has yet to make any such payments, according to a Washington Times analysis. Carbon offset providers said they have even tried to connect with Mrs. Clinton’s campaign to help her, but have heard silence.

Her omission is all the more striking because it marks a reversal not just from her pledge this summer, but also her practice from her 2008 campaign, when she paid more than $80,000 to offset her campaign’s greenhouse gas emissions from July 2007 to July 2008.…
