As of 1999, NASA showed no net warming from the 1870’s to the 1970’s, and showed 1877 as the warmest year from 1866 to 1976.

The IPCC showed that the warmest period of the last thousand years was in the 13th century, and that all recent warming occurred before the year 1940.
There was no evidence of a human influence on climate, and that was no use for funding or political influence. So the decision was made to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period, and create a hockey stick of recent warming.
IPCC participant Jay Overpeck said in his email to Professor Deming, “We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period.”
Michael Mann was up to the task, and he did exactly what Overpeck wanted him to do – he erased the Medieval Warm Period.
But that wasn’t enough to make the Hockey Stick. Mann needed some help from his buddies at NASA, James Hansen and Gavin Schmidt. They had to create about 0.6C warming from 1850 to 1976 – which they did by altering their own data.
Hansen and Schmidt created the blade of the hockey stick by tampering with their own data, just as Mann did with the proxy data to get rid of the MWP and LIA.
The massive climate fraud we are currently experiencing didn’t just happen. It required two decades of planning and collusion to make it happen. Gavin says that is is no big deal that he nearly doubled 1880 to 1999 warming, hid the pre-1880 warmth, adjusted data far outside of his own error bars, and declared hottest year ever by a couple of hundredths of a degree.
NASA’s top climate scientist Gavin Schmidt to host ‘Rap Guide to Climate Chaos’ with rap artist Baba Brinkman
NASA’s chief climate scientist, Gavin Schmidt, is hosting the Q&A portion of ‘Rap Guide to Climate Chaos’ performed by rap artist Baba Brinkman at the SoHo Playhouse on March 11, 2016.
The following footage is from Baba Brinkman’s recent performance of ‘Make it Hot’ which is expected to be included in his upcoming album.

Analysis: NASA ‘has doubled global warming by altering data over past 15 years’ – ‘No Pause In NASA Climate Science Corruption’
Gavin Schmidt of NASA thinks he can massively tamper with data, and no one will notice.
He has doubled global warming by simply altering his own data over the past 15 years.
He also ignores satellite data which shows that his temperature data is complete garbage, and that temperatures have not risen this century.
He has chosen to exploit his personal tragedy for the purposes of promoting climate change alarmism.
I’m genuinely surprised that NASA thought it was at all a good idea to publish this emotive piece. I shouldn’t be surprised if it alienates more people than it persuades. After all, if climate change were really such a desperately important, scientifically proven issue, it certainly wouldn’t need moving pleas from dying men to push its cause. The facts would speak for themselves.…
NASA Scientist in NYT: ‘I have Stage 4 pancreatic cancer’ but ‘climate change’ is still my top concern – Skeptical Scientist Responds
Piers J. Sellers is the deputy director of Sciences and Exploration at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and acting director of its Earth Sciences Division. As an astronaut, he visited the International Space Station three times and walked in space six times. Sellers is also the ‘boss’ of NASA’s Gavin Schmidt.
Excerpts from Sellers from January 16, 2016 New York Times:
I’m a climate scientist who has just been told I have Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. This diagnosis puts me in an interesting position. I’ve spent much of my professional life thinking about the science of climate change, which is best viewed through a multidecadal lens. At some level I was sure that, even at my present age of 60, I would live to see the most critical part of the problem, and its possible solutions, play out in my lifetime. Now that my personal horizon has been steeply foreshortened, I was forced to decide how to spend my remaining time. Was continuing to think about climate change worth the bother?…
Last year may also be seen in hindsight as the year of the Death of Denial. Globally speaking, most policy makers now trust the scientific evidence and predictions, even as they grapple with ways to respond to the problem. And most Americans — 70 percent, according to a recent Monmouth University poll — believe that the climate is changing. So perhaps now we can move on to the really hard part of this whole business….
There is no convincing, demonstrated reason to believe that our evolving future will be worse than our present, assuming careful management of the challenges and risks….
While many have mocked this accord as being toothless and unenforceable, it is noteworthy that the policy makers settled on a number that is based on the best science available and is within the predictive capability of our computer models. It’s doubtful that we’ll hold the line at 2 degrees Celsius, but we need to give it our best shot. With scenarios that exceed that target, we are talking about enormous changes in global precipitation and temperature patterns, huge impacts on water and food security, and significant sea level rise. As the predicted temperature rises, model uncertainty grows, increasing the likelihood of unforeseen, disastrous events. All this as the world’s population is expected to crest at around 9.5 billion by 2050 from the current seven billion. Watch: Morano on Fox on ‘Hottest Year’ Claims: ‘It’s statistical nonsense’ – ‘NASA’s Gavin Schmidt has egg all over his face with this’
Partial transcript of interview:
Marc Morano: Their error bars for claiming the ‘hottest years’ are 500% larger than the claimed difference. In other words, they are talking about statically meaningless temperature records that the instrument record can’t even measure. It’s way within the margin of error. It’s statistical nonsense. You asked, Stuart, can we poke holes in this? This is a house of cards, it’s collapsed on its own weight.
They said it was the hottest year on record based on statistically meaningless difference based on hundreds of a degree between hottest years. They admit now that they are only 38% sure 2014 was the ‘hottest year.’ They knew the media would run with this as though the ‘hottest year’ claim meant something but it means absolutely nothing.
It means in reality that the global warming pause continues. And according to the satellite data there has been no global warming for 18 years 3 months. Every kid in high school today has not experienced global warming.
There have been fluctuations, the satellite data uses NASA satellites and has been promoted by NASA as more accurate than ground based thermometers. They constantly adjust the land based data, they cool the past, and they heat the present. There is all kinds of siting issues with land based thermometers. So the global warming establishment now wants to ignore this satellite data which shows the 18 year pause.
We have scientists now using words like ‘misleading’ & ‘lies’ & ‘deception’ against NASA.
NASA’s lead global warning scientist is Gavin Schmidt. He’s got egg all over his face with this.
He knew when the hottest year claims went out to the media that this was something NASA did not have the confidence in– They should have presented that more prominently.
Stuart Varney asks Morano: ‘So you don’t think the earth is warming?’
Morano: The earth is warming since the end of the Little Ice Age in about 1850. Many of the glaciers you see — that people get all excited about about melting — a significant portion of them had melted by 1900 or 1950 before humans could have possibly had any kind of warming effect on the climate. (More on glaciers here, here, here and here.) And we have actually probably cooled since the medieval warm period that occurred from about …

Climate Depot Round Up of NASA”s New Lead Global Warming Scientist
NASA’s new lead global warming scientist, Gavin Schmidt, has history of belittling skeptical scientists, suppressing debate, condoning making climate data “impenetrable” and many of his scientific claims and his website RealClimate.org, have been harshly criticized by scientists from around the world.
Schmidt replaces NASA’s James Hansen as Director of its Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS). Hansen retired in early 2013. See: NASA’s Lead Global Warming Scientist: Humans responsible for ’80 to 120% of the warming’ – Joe Romm gushes: ‘Meet Dr. Gavin Schmidt, NASA’s Replacement For James Hansen’ – Schmidt ‘was GISS deputy director, has a doctorate in applied mathematics, is ‘an expert in climate modeling.’
Climate Depot has been following Gavin Schmidt’s career for years and presents the below round up of his climate change foibles.
Gavin Schmidt’s history:
NASA’s Gavin Schmidt promotes hiding data!? I would simply put the whole CRU database (in an as-impenetrable-as-possible form’ – Warmist AGU gave a $25,000 award to Gavin Schmidt being the ‘best climate communicator in the world’
Physicist Dr. Motl rips Schmidt: ‘So if you want to be the best climate science communicator in the world, you have to release the data in an as-impenetrable-as-possible form. ;-)’
Israeli Astrophysicist Nir Shaviv has also been critical. “The aim of [Schmidt’s] RealClimate.org is not to engage a sincere scientific debate. Their aim is to post a reply full of a straw man so their supporters can claim that your point ‘has been refuted by real scientists at RealClimate.org,’” Shaviv’s website reported. Shaviv, who calls the website “Wishfulclimate.org,” noted that the “writers (at RealClimaet.org) try again and again to concoct what appears to be deep critiques against skeptic arguments, but end up doing a very shallow job. All in the name of saving the world. How gallant of them.”
