NYT Excerpt: By CORAL DAVENPORT MARCH 2, 2017

WASHINGTON — The White House is fiercely divided over President Trump’s campaign promise to “cancel” the Paris agreement, the 2015 accord that binds nearly every country to curb global warming, with more moderate voices maintaining that he should stick with the agreement despite his campaign pledge.

Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s senior adviser, is pressing the president to officially pull the United States from the landmark accord, but he is clashing with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the president’s daughter Ivanka Trump, who fear the move could have broad and damaging diplomatic ramifications.

Mr. Trump vowed on the campaign trail to tear up President Barack Obama’s global warming policies, and on the home front he is moving aggressively to meet those pledges with deep cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency and a new E.P.A. administrator, Scott Pruitt, who is a skeptic of climate science.

Next week, Mr. Trump plans to sign an executive order directing Mr. Pruitt to start the lengthy legal process of unwinding Mr. Obama’s E.P.A. regulations for cutting greenhouse pollution from coal-fired power plants. Those regulations are the linchpin of the last administration’s program to meet the nation’s obligations to reduce climate emissions under the Paris agreement.

While the president cannot, as Mr. Trump suggested, unilaterally undo a 194-nation accord that has already been legally ratified, he could initiate the four-year process to withdraw the world’s largest economy and second-largest climate polluter from the first worldwide deal to tackle global warming. Such a move would rend a global deal that has been hailed as historic, throwing into question the fate of global climate policy and, diplomats say, the credibility of the United States.

But it would also demonstrate to his supporters that Mr. Trump is a man of his word, putting American coal interests ahead of a global deal forged by Mr. Obama.

“The two greatest obstacles to a Clexit (climate exit from U.N. Paris agreement) are probably Ivanka and Tillerson,” wrote Marc Morano, a former Republican Senate staff member who now runs Climate Depot, a fossil-fuel-industry-funded website that promotes the denial of climate science, in an email. “Tillerson with his ‘seat at the table’ views could be biggest proponent of not withdrawing the U.S. from the agreement.”

Mr. Tillerson is a former chief executive of Exxon Mobil, which, like many major global

MARC MORANO: NOAA RESEARCHERS VIOLATED THE AGENCIES DATA QUALITY AND STORAGE STANDARDS

FEBRUARY 21, 2017

Decorated National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration research scientist John Bates has become a whistleblower, disclosing NOAA scientist violated agency protocols in a rush to publish unverified research for political reasons.

Marc Morano publisher of Climate Depot discusses the growing scandal surrounding newly retired decorated National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration research scientist John Bates decision to become a whistleblower and disclose how NOAA scientist violated agency protocols in a rush to publish unverified research that purported to show there had been no 18 year long pause in rising temperatures as every other temperature data set in the world recorded, rather temperatures had risen at an alarming rate. The scientists violated the agency’s rules, rushing to publication data which had yet to be tested and confirmed in order to influence the outcome of the Paris climate negotiations in 2015. In a second breach of agency protocol, the scientists failed to properly archive and store their datasets. Subsequently, some of the original data sets were lost when the computer used to process the data suffered a complete failure.

Morano says the NOAA researchers learned nothing from the Climategate scandal of 2009, ignoring the need for transparency and accountability bringing climate science into further disrepute and public mistrust.

International Polar Bear Day Sees Population Pop 27% Despite ‘Global Warming’

By Craig Bannister | February 27, 2017 | 2:22 PM EST
Conservationists worldwide have cause to celebrate on International Polar Bear Day as the global population of this “endangered” animal is surging.

On International Polar Bear Day 2017, the world’s polar bear population is up 27% from 2005 – despite some environmentalists’ fears of global warming.

The day is intended to raise awareness to the supposed plight of the polar bear:

“Feb. 27 marks International Polar Bear Day, an annual event meant to raise awareness of polar bears and their conservation status. Polar bears are considered a vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.”

Conservationists continue to warn of the polar bear’s doom because their claims are based on “unverifiable predictions,” not proof, ClimateDepot.com Publisher Marc Morano tells CNSNews.com:

“There is a lot to celebrate about polar bears today. The feared ‘global warming’ has failed to harm the species as their numbers continue to increase.

“It’s odd that a species whose numbers continue to escalate is still being hyped as being “endangered” based upon unverifiable predictions of the future.

“The greatest threat that polar bears face may only be from the electrons in the hard drives of the scientists predicting polar bear doom decades from now.”

Watch: Morano on Fox debating EPA & Climate: ‘This is the end of superstition in Washington’

Excerpts:

Morano: “The more the plans fail, the more the planners keep planning and passing regulations.”

“What Scott Pruitt really represents — you see my smile here — This is the end of superstition in Washington. And it’s actually going back to science and actual cost benefit analysis. It’s very simple: The EPA climate plan is the signature Obama executive order — he couldn’t get it through Congress so he bypassed democracy. But this plan wouldn’t even impact global CO2 levels, let alone global temperatures or storms. Yet Obama administration officials like John Podesta actually sold the regulations as as way to prevent storms and we need this because the storms are getting worse.”

Morano: “If you want to rescind Al Gore’s nobel prize — give it to fracking industry. they had the greatest effect. U.S. emissions now are at a 25 year low in the first half of 2016 due to fracking taking over for coal. It’s technology and new ways of doing it, not the heavy hand of regulation. CO2 emissions are not bad, I was being illustrative there.”

Scott Pruitt’s Game-Changing Call for Debate on Climate Science

BY TOM HARRIS FEBRUARY 16, 2017

People familiar with global warming science are well aware of the many serious problems with the politically correct yet scientifically improbable idea that carbon dioxide emissions from industrial activities threaten Earth’s climate. These problems were summarized in the 2016 State of the Climate Report, released during the UN Climate Conference in Morocco in November 2016 by Marc Morano, publisher of the influential ClimateDepot.com. Morano’s report demonstrated that prominent experts disagree with virtually all of the major concerns that activists tell us are “settled science.” Fears of catastrophic, human-caused changes in temperature, sea level, polar bear populations, sea and land ice and extreme weather are soundly debunked by scientists cited in the Climate Depot report.

University of London professor emeritus (biogeography) Philip Stott summarized:

The fundamental point has always been this. Climate change is governed by hundreds of factors, or variables, and the very idea that we can manage climate change predictably by understanding and manipulating at the margins one politically selected factor (CO2) is as misguided as it gets. It’s scientific nonsense.

Besides the Morano report and recent concerns about K15, thousands of peer-reviewed papers in science journals highlighted by the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change show that much of what we thought we knew about climate is wrong or highly debatable. Given such massive controversy, Pruitt would be irresponsible to not call for a re-examination of the science backing current government climate change-related policies.…

Flashback 2015: Climate Depot exposed NOAA Pause-Buster Study! There is a history of ‘adjusting’away inconvenient data’

In June 2015, Climate Depot was one of the first to report that the now infamous and discredited “pause buster” study by NOAA was not holding up scientifically.

From June 4, 2015 Climate Depot special report:

Climate Depot’s Marc Morano: “Ironically, the global warming establishment has simultaneously tried to deny a ‘pause’ while at the same time making up endless excuses for the ‘pause’.” See: It’s Official – There are now 66 excuses for Temp ‘pause’ – Updated list of 66 excuses for the 18-26 year ‘pause’ in global warming

The global warming ‘pause’ is alive and well.’

This latest study merely adds to the dueling datasets and of course timelines in the climate debate. Whether you deal with sea level rise, temperature or ice, the method of measurement yields different results. (satellite monitoring shows sea level rise acceleration while tide gauges do not for example)

It now appears that global warming is morphing into a debate where both sides can have their own set of ‘facts’!” – See: Dueling Datasets: Satellite Temperatures Reveal the ‘Global Warming Pause’ Lengthens

Ironically, the global warming establishment has simultaneously tried to deny a ‘pause’ while at the same time making up endless excuses for the ‘pause’. See: It’s Official – There are now 66 excuses for Temp ‘pause’ – Updated list of 66 excuses for the 18-26 year ‘pause’ in global warming

Revising the past temperatures will always be a hard sell especially when the scientists doing the ‘adjustments’ to the past have a vested interested in promoting man-made climate change. The climate establishment has a history of ‘adjusting’ away inconvenient data from the global warming debate.
