The Texas Energy Disaster
By Andy May I live in Texas and write about climate science and energy, so I get a lot of questions about the recent problems. My wife and I are……
The Trump Energy Resilience Plan which Could have Saved Texas
Has Trump derangement syndrome cost Texan lives? Back in 2017, Secretary of Energy Rick Perry proposed paying Coal and Nuclear Power Stations to keep at least 90 days worth of coal onsite, for disaster resilience. At the time the resilience proposal was widely criticised as being a thinly disguised Trump scheme to pump government money into the coal and nuclear industries. But in hindsight, a bit more resilience might have saved Texas from days of painful electricity blackouts.…
Cold Snaps Expose Climate Science Fragility
Some climate scientists argue CO2 induced “Arctic Amplification” causing warmer polar temperatures which increased the jet stream’s waviness. However, there is no consensus for their hypothesis, and some argue there is little evidence at all for that effect. Nonetheless there is an excellent, albeit ignored explanation for the warming Arctic/cooling mid‑latitudes paradox. The natural quasi‑permanent Aleutian Low nearly explains it all.…
Claim: 42,000 Years Ago, the Earth’s Magnetic Field Collapsed and the World Cooled
“Ship of Fools” Captain Chris Turney at UNSW claims to have identified a climate catastrophe 42,000 years ago, caused by a period of solar minima, intense cosmic ray bombardment, and the collapse of the Earth’s geomagnetic field.…
Junk Grade Models: Even Short-Term Climate And Weather Modelers Get It All Wrong
Reposted from NoTricksZone By P Gosselin on 19. February 2021 Many climate policies are based on scenarios generated by models. Depending what these models churn out, actions and costly regulations get enacted to……
Cooking Until You Freeze
Guest Post by Willis Eschenbach I keep reading that the freezing cold weather in Houston, Dallas, and the central US is the result of “global warming”. When I heard that,……
