Ban plants! ‘Plants may be responsible for up to 30% of the world’s methane’

Ban plants!

The surprising discovery that plants may be responsible for up to 30 per cent of the world’s methane, a powerful greenhouse gas, is no reason to stop planting forests, a scientist has warned. A team led by Frank Keppler, of Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in Germany, found that living plants emit 10 to 1000 times more of the gas than decaying matter. And plants increase their methane emissions when warmed by the sun, it was found. Plants have long been seen as weapons against global warming because they absorb another greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide. It’s a surprise, said David Etheridge of the CSIRO’s Marine and Atmospheric Research division. “You think you know everything.” Sydney Morning Herald, 13 Jan 2006

Updated NASA Data Shows That Global Warming/Climate Change Not Causing Recession Of Polar Ice

Updated NASA data on the polar ice cap is showing results that are contrary to all who claim global warming is receding it. Reportedly, global warming (better known presently as climate change) has not caused any recession of polar ice.

According to a report by Forbes, a NASA satellite instrument revealed that the Earth’s polar ice caps have not receded at all since it began its measurements back in 1979. From what was shown in its data, total polar ice has generally remained above the post-1979 average, a finding that contradicts the most-frequently spoken claims by those who push global warming as the primary reason why the polar ice caps are receding.…

Sanders: ‘This election is about climate change’

(No title)

Sanders: “This election is about climate change”And he said it with Hildabeest alongside him nodding like a bobble-headed doll. Lets hope the both of them continue to hammer that message. All the polls put climate change way down in people’s priorities. Trump has got the subject right: Immigration. It would be exquisite if climate change cost Hillary the electionBernie Sanders officially threw in the towel on Tuesday in New Hampshire by endorsing Hillary Clinton for president. Hitting on the themes his campaign has stressed throughout the primaries, Sanders laid out what this election is really about. One of his themes has been climate change, which featured heavily in his speech:”This election is about climate change, the greatest environmental crisis facing our planet, and the need to leave this world in a way that is healthy and habitable for our kids and future generations.Hillary Clinton is listening to the scientists who tell us that if we do not act boldly in the very near future there will be more drought, more floods, more acidification of the oceans, more rising sea levels. She understands that we must work with countries around the world in transforming our energy system away from fossil fuels and into energy efficiency and sustainable energy — and that when we do that we can create a whole lot of good paying jobs.Donald Trump: Well, like most Republicans, he chooses to reject science — something no presidential candidate should do. He believes that climate change is a hoax. In fact, he wants to expand the use of fossil fuel. That would be a disaster for our country and our planet”The endorsement rally was kicked off by climate activist (and Grist board member) Bill McKibben. “Secretary Clinton, we wish you Godspeed in the fight that now looms,” McKibben said.SOURCEThe “97%” hit with logicIn a video for Prager University, author Alex Epstein address the highly touted claim, “97% of climate scientists agree that climate change is real.” Epstein debunks this shoddy assertion with a simple analogy — the side effects vs. overall health risks of vaccinations.SOURCEGlobal warming pause continues as temperatures continue to plummetSatellite temperatures show no statistical difference with June 2016 temperatures and 1998’s, showing a steep drop in global temps once El Nino ended.According to the now-finalized RSS satellite-derived June 2016 temperatures, measurements show that the global warming pause (or hiatus) is on track to resume …

Dem Senator’s Floor Speech to Attack Nonprofit Critical of Her

A Democratic Senator will take to the chamber floor on Tuesday to attack a group that exposed her secret collaboration with environmentalist pressure groups in crafting official press statements.

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D., N.H.) is scheduled to attack the Energy and Environment Legal Institute on the Senate floor on Tuesday as part of a coordinated PR offensive against conservative and libertarian nonprofit groups.

Nineteen Senate Democrats involved in the effort were tasked with using floor speeches to attack specific groups, which they are branding as parts of a “web of denial” seeking to impede Democratic energy and environmental policies.

Shaheen’s floor speech will go after E&E and the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a libertarian nonprofit that has been targeted by state Democratic officials seeking racketeering charges against oil giant ExxonMobil and groups to which it has donated.…

Whitehouse & Co. organize “play in protest” using kids as climate pawns

People send me stuff. In this case it is a groaner of a press release where kids too young to think will be used as political pawns for climate change action. They say: …will focus on the air pollution that causes dangerous climate change. Families from across the country will showcase exactly what’s at stake […]

June Hottest Month On Record? It’s Just One More Overheated Claim

June Hottest Month On Record? It’s Just One More Overheated Claim

A trusted — by some — federal agency says that this June was the hottest June on record in the Lower 48. Many will take this as further evidence that man’s greenhouse gas emissions are cooking the planet. Others will look at it and ask “what in the world are these people talking about?”
