Debate no more! Jailed for scientific dissent?! Twenty climate scientists, including Top UN scientist, call for RICO investigation of climate skeptics in letter to Obama

Top UN scientist Dr. Kevin Trenberth and 19 other scientists have become so tired of debating global warming that they are now apparently seeking to jail those who disagree with them.

One of the scientists who signed the letter was Alan Robock of Rutgers University. Robock has expressed very positive views of Cuba’s Fidel Castro after trips there in 2010 and 2011. See: Rutger’s Prof. Alan Robock drools over Castro and his VIP treatment in 2010 trip to Cuba [email protected] – Robock’s enchanted meeting with Castro: I stayed at ‘nicest hotel…I went in a black Mercedes…I went to private meeting with Fidel & his family…we had photo taken together’

Letter to President Obama, Attorney General Lynch, and OSTP Director Holdren

September 1, 2015

Dear President Obama, Attorney General Lynch, and OSTP Director Holdren,

As you know, an overwhelming majority of climate scientists are convinced about the potentially serious adverse effects of human-induced climate change on human health, agriculture, and biodiversity. We applaud your efforts to regulate emissions and the other steps you are taking. Nonetheless, as climate scientists we are exceedingly concerned that America’s response to climate change – indeed, the world’s response to climate change – is insufficient. The risks posed by climate change, including increasing extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and increasing ocean acidity – and potential strategies for addressing them – are detailed in the Third National Climate Assessment (2014), Climate Change Impacts in the United States. The stability of the Earth’s climate over the past ten thousand years contributed to the growth of agriculture and therefore, a thriving human civilization. We are now at high risk of seriously destabilizing the Earth’s climate and irreparably harming people around the world, especially the world’s poorest people.

We appreciate that you are making aggressive and imaginative use of the limited tools available to you in the face of a recalcitrant Congress. One additional tool – recently proposed by Senator …

Ten House Republicans Plan to Call for Action on Climate Change

A coalition of House Republicans is gearing up to make waves by calling for action to fight climate change on the eve of Pope Francis’s visit to Capitol Hill.Ten Republicans have so far signed onto a resolution affirming that human activity contributes to climate change and endorsing action to respond to the threat of Earth’s changing climate. The resolution is expected to be unveiled as early as Thursday.

Rep. Chris Gibson, a New York Republican, led the charge in crafting the resolution and convincing other Republicans to speak out in support. “This is a call for action to study how humans are impacting our environment and to look for consensus on areas where we can take action to mitigate the risks and balance our impacts,” Gibson told National Journal.…

Global Warming: ‘Why We Don’t Need To Worry Even If It’s Really True’

http://news.investors.com/blogs-capital-hill/091615-771338-why-we-dont-need-to-worry-about-climate-change.htm

But for the sake of argument, let’s say that due to man’s carbon dioxide emissions, Earth is warming at the rate the alarmists claim it is. What should we do? Those driving the global warming scare want to sharply cut human carbon dioxide emissions. But those cuts aren’t free. NERA Economic Consulting says that the Environmental Protection Agency’s carbon rule for power plants alone would cost consumers $366 billion over 14 years.

For all that money, we’d cut the rise in global temperature by 0.02 degrees and sea level increases by 0.01 inch. And these costs don’t include restrictions that could be imposed on automobile emissions, carbon taxes, any sort of carbon-trading regime or the over-the-rainbow renewable energy programs that politics have produced.

The better path is to do what humans have always done — adapt.

Ted Cruz: CNN’s PC Moderator Ignored Me as ‘Climate Skeptic’

Appearing after the debate on Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” Cruz noted that he tried to jump in on the global warming debate, but moderator Jake Tapper cut him off, saying many candidates already had discussed it:

“The moderator asked folks who ran away from the issue and were afraid to take it on,” Cruz said. I tried to jump in and say ‘Hey, you want a skeptic, I’ll be one,’ and the moderator didn’t want me to answer that.”

Government and media ratcheting up the climate change rhetoric as UN climate summit draws near

http://www.examiner.com/article/government-and-media-ratcheting-up-the-climate-change-rhetoric

As government agencies gear up for the U.N.-sponsored climate talks in December, the alarmist rhetoric shifted into high gear on Monday, spurredalong by a wobbly press release from the U.K.’s Met Office. From 2015 being the hottest year on record (it isn’t) to global warming causing California’s worst drought ever (it isn’t) to polar bears literally starving to death from lack of sea ice (they’re doing just fine), the only thing getting hotter are the headlines from a feckless and gullible media.

And now the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are fueling the fire, predicting that 2015 will be the hottest year ever. One problem: the most precise method of measuring global temperatures, satellites (which are accurate to within .001 degrees Celsius), shows no statistical increase in temperatures since January 1997.…
