Air conditioners and refrigerators pose as big a threat to “life on the planet” as the threat of terrorism, Secretary of State John Kerry said Friday.
Kerry was in Vienna negotiating a global climate deal to phase out chemicals used as refrigerants in basic household and commercial appliances such as air conditioning and refrigerators, called hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs. The chemicals are a potent source of greenhouse gas emissions that many scientists blame for contributing to global warming.
Kerry made the remarks as part of a pep talk for negotiators working through the weekend to amend a 1987 treaty called the Montreal Protocol to deal with the chemicals.
“Yesterday, I met in Washington with 45 nations — defense ministers and foreign ministers — as we were working together on the challenge of [the Islamic State], and terrorism,” he said. “It’s hard for some people to grasp it, but what we — you — are doing here right now is of equal importance because it has the ability to literally save life on the planet itself.”
The global deal would match new EPA regulations to ban HFCs in the United States and promote alternative chemicals for use in appliances.
The EPA’s rules, together with the negotiations in Vienna, are part of the president’s climate agenda for his final year in office.

When will this loony war on NOTHING ever end? When the few survivors that are left are all sitting somewhere hudddled together in the freezing cold and dark ‘fossil fuel free’, green dystopia that the twisted left so look forward to?
And STILL there will be no extreme weather events or rising sea levels immersing our major cities, or any of the other numerous catastrpohic events they purport would happen (but haven’t) such as what Kerry suggests needs to be done will prevent… The man is a nut-job like the rest of the loony left, alarmist doomsayers, under the leadership of the communist UN… Yet, supposedly intelligent and informed people, listen to these fools and BELIEVE them…!??

Be happy – despite what these green, alarmist, scare-mongering fascists want you to believe: the world is NOT going to end if you use electricity generated by coal or gas, because of too much (essential to life) CO2 being emitted, but it will not be a very nice place if you believe the hype and follow the alarmist’s misinformed advice…

In my opinion, Mr. Kerry cannot be so intellectually challenged that he believes this. But I am not sure, because some other things he has said sound to me to be equally bizarre.
Is it possible that he believes others to be so stupid that he can spout any nonsense that fits the President’s agenda?
