Fairbanks, Alaska – Shortest Summer On Record

Winter Storm for Montana, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Utah, Western Nebraska —  The calendar may say October 2, but a winter storm is poised to bring heavy snow to the northern Rockies  tonight at higher elevations, including the Tetons, Bighorns, and Beartooth Ranges of Wyoming and far southwest Montana. Tomorrow and Friday, snow will become widespread in southern Montana, central and eastern Idaho, far northern Utah, much of Wyoming, the mountains of northern Colorado.

In Bernasconi, General Acha, Ataliva Rock, Quehué, Colonia Santa Maria and Unanue appeared cows, calves and bulls dead after the snowstorm. The mayor of Bernasconi, Jorge Riera, said about 200 animals were killed in department Hucal while in Utracán department, two thousand cattle were killed. (Journal Textual)

Earliest ever opening of Crystal Mountain Resort — From the “man-made global warming STILL not ruining the ski industry” department.  Crystal Mountain is located on the Northeast corner of Mt. Rainier National park in the State of Washington. Its base is at 4,400 feet, and its summit (Silver King) stands at 7,012 feet, for a total vertical run of 3,100 feet.
