Humans may evolve bizarre features such as webbed feet and eyes like cats in response to changing environments, a scientist claims today.
Experts calculated how our physical appearance could change under a number of scenarios, including a ‘water world’ if melting ice caps cause rising sea levels.
They also considered what would happen in a second ice age which could be triggered by an asteroid strike, and if humans colonised other planets.
Dr Matthew Skinner, a paleoanthropologist at the University of Kent, examined the three scenarios and worked with artist Quentin Devine to help visualise how humans could look in the future.
Dr Skinner said some changes – such as webbed feet and hands becoming widespread – could take place very quickly as some humans already have a genetic mutation that produces webbing.

After World War 1, The Italian Alps Glaciers grew and covered most of the Alps. Now that they are receding they are finding remains from World War 1. Of course, this cannot be explained.

Come on Melvin try to keep up and I will type a little slower for you. It is a cycle, higher levels of C02 spur growth like they are doing now. Eventually we will hit equilibrium and then a decline as C02 decreases due to the larger plant population. All that to say that the earth is constantly changing and will work towards equilibrium.

feedbacks, even when starting up, always cause the output to swing high to low
in ac amps, or in dc amps to go to a rail and stay there, if the feedback is big
enough to affect the output. The plants-CO2 system is a negative feed back
system, that is inherently stable, although on human time scales is slow.

I spent some time studying that article and researching some of the referenced papers. They do not say what the authors claim.
One of the papers they used to confirm their story was authored by a well-known skeptic who conducted an informal survey of 24 scientists and found a slight majority of them subscribed to the global warming theory vs. global cooling. Connelly and Co counted that as one of the overwhelming ‘consensus’ papers for warming. Shameless propaganda all the way.

Like most climate change nuts, you are fixated on one area which may well be true, putting out more CO2 might bump up temps slightly. BUT every model put forward by climate change nazis has proven hopelessly inaccurate, all of them grossly exaggerate the effect that mans activity has and downplay the effects of naturally occurring cycles. Think of a sine wave on an oscilloscope. That up and down wave is the natural pattern of climate change the occurs whether man has an imput or not. Now consider that same sine wave which some fuzzy “noise” added. That is the very small impact that man has, added to the natural cycle. The point is that altering mans activity has almost no impact on the larger trend, and in fact could be counterproductive if for instance man’s imput was to slightly increase temps at a time when the broader natural trend was down. Even “accepted” models within the climate change community generally admit that changing our activity will have little to no measurable impact. The real goal is not to actually affect the climate but to implement redistributive leftist political goals using climate as the excuse.

I go to the beach all the time. Have for the past 60 years or so. Water is still where it always was. Other than storm surges or the usual high and low tide changes (you know caused by the moon?) the ocean seems to be at the same level it always was during my lifetime. You can figure this out by where it is on the various piers. I don’t think we need to worry about growing webbed feet here in California, but I lived in Oregon for a year and thought there was a chance of it there… (BTW Why do people in the UK or in tropical locations not have webbed feet?)

Two things to keep in mind in California: Oil drilling (much of it along the coast on and off shore) has contributed to salt water intrusion and the depletion of the fresh water aquifers for farming and metropolitan water service. If a void is created in one way or another it is going to be filled. Orange County is recycling sewer water and recharging its fresh water aquifers.
And, there hasn’t been a major dam built in CA for DECADES. Rivers throughout the state whose water could irrigate hundreds of thousands of parched acres of land instead flow uselessly into the Pacific Ocean.

This is childish. The theory of evolution states that a species will change when certain small changes result in some individuals of that species having more offspring, which then increases the number of individuals in the next generation that have that change.
Specifically, if some humans had slight webbing in their feet, AND that resulted in those humans having more offspring than those with lesser webbing on their feet, after perhaps a few thousand years of that we’d see humans with more webbing on their feet.
The key ingredient that is missing is that there is no reason to expect individuals with slightly greater webbing in their feet to have more offspring than lesser webbed individuals, generation after generation, for thousands of years.

CO2 is a “trace gas” in air and is insignificant by definition. It absorbs 1/7th as much IR, heat energy, from sunlight per molecule as water vapor which has 188 times as many molecules capturing 1200 times as much heat producing 99.8% of all “global warming.” CO2 does only 0.2% of it. For this we should destroy our economy, starve the world, cause hunger, riots and wars?
There is no “greenhouse effect” in an atmosphere. A greenhouse has a solid, clear cover trapping heat. The atmosphere does not trap heat as gas molecules cannot form surfaces to work as greenhouses that admit and reflect energy depending on sun angle. Gases do not form surfaces as their molecules are not in contact.
The Medieval Warming from 800 AD to 1300 AD Micheal Mann erased for his “hockey stick” was several Fahrenheit degrees warmer than anything “global warmers” fear. It was 500 years of world peace and abundance, longest ever.
Vostock Ice Core data analysis show CO2 rises followed temperature by 800 years 19 times in 450,000 years. Therefore temperature change is cause and CO2 change is effect. This alone refutes the anthropogenic global warming hypothesis.

The presence of these gases allows the atmosphere to absorb some of the Earth’s radiated heat and be warmed by it, all the way down to the surface, creating the observed 33°C temperature gradient between the surface and the top of the atmosphere. This is what sustains our habitable climate, and it is referred to as the ‘greenhouse effect’.
CO₂ is the most significant greenhouse gas because it is responsible for around 80% of the forcing which sustains the greenhouse effect. The remaining 20% comes from the other non-condensing greenhouse gases which are present in much lower concentrations in the atmosphere.
This is why our large emissions of greenhouse gases are having such a large and rapid warming impact on the climate.

If the world was going to get significantly warmer, we’d be more likely to adapt metabolically to a higher water vapor and carbon dioxide component in our atmosphere that would result from the warming, and we’d remain bipedally ambulatory on dry land in order to remain where most of the oxygen is. There would be less oxygen in the warmer water also, so there’d be no pressure to go back to being a marine mammal, gilled and web-footed or otherwise, even if our only source of food became the ocean and its adapted species.

NASA: Antarctica gaining more ice than losing
Antarctica has been accumulating more ice than it’s been losing in recent decades, a new study by NASA has revealed, challenging existing theories on climate change and rises in sea levels.
The paper, entitled “Mass gains of the Antarctic ice sheet exceed losses,” was published in the Journal of Glaciology on Friday.
The authors of the study, who are from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, the University of Maryland and Sigma Space Corporation, analyzed satellite data showing that Antarctica gained 112 billion tons of ice annually from 1992 to 2001.
There was a slowdown in accumulation from 2003 to 2008, but gains still stood at solid 82 billion tons of ice per year during that period, the paper said.

If you believe that the life of mammals evolved from sea creatures, than we should expect that we will just evolve back into fish, or dolphins or whatever is necessary to continue on the planet. If you believe that a rock evolved into a tomato and a tomato into a man (with perhaps a few more transitory forms in between but you get the gist) what’s the big deal if the earth is covered by water. As far as adapting to ‘a second ice age’, We are living in a warmer period inside of the fifth ice age. This ice age, the one in which we evolved to be who we are, could go on for a very long time with warmer and cooler periods, or it could end.
We are way more likely to evolve more muscular more dexterous thumbs from texting and gaming on our phones than any of these hair-brained ideas.

First, global warming is a hoax. Second, biological organisms, (people included), don’t develop characteristics in response to anything. Spontaneous genetic mutations occur which, if beneficial, can help the organism survive. In all the years I’ve worked with newborn babies, I’ve seen many anomalies, most of which were detrimental and needing fixing. But I’ve never seen any baby born with gills. Sure, a single baby could be born with them, but it isn’t very likely. Third, the idea of developing big noses to warm the cold air is ridiculous! Scandinavians typically have slender noses and Africans have big noses. This should be opposite if what they are saying were true. What dribble!

With more CO2 in the air, plants will grow faster. They take in CO2 and exhale Oxygen. With more water vapor in the air, (and CO2) the deserts will green. The Sahara desert used to be a Savannah several thousand years ago. Places that normally do not get water will get more water.
They say Ocean levels will rise, I am not so sure. I think the water will be more spread out. Arizona used to be an inland sea. Who is to say this water will not go to different places and form lakes and sea’s. As water freezes, it expands, so all the North Pole melts the water level should drop.

And coal, oil, and gas are a gift not a curse. If not for them we could not support so many people. The fact that they are not renewable tells me that we have not been around all that long. Had people been around for 200,000 years, the population would have spiked many times over, all the peat would have been removed, the coal seams would have been exhausted, and much of the oil would have been depleted as well.
For the theory of evolution to be correct, then individual members of each species are at different levels of evolving if not all members of that species are similar in appearance and conduct. Since not all humans appear the same or act the same, then some members of the human species must be more evolved than others. So evolutionists, which members of the human species are more evolved than the others?

I believe that humans are mostly responsible for warming the planet. However, this article reflects primitive thinking with regard to genetically induced morphological changes. What drives evolutionary changes is mutations and natural selection, per present theory. Changes in the environment do not induce changes of the type mentioned in this article. And, we’re not looking at massive populations of water-bound humans coursing through the waters like dolphins.
Believe that all you want. There is a big yellow thing that comes up every morning that has more to do with the temperature of the earth than man will ever be able to accomplish.
