Study claims EPA’s Clean Power Plan may hike electricity prices in 47 states

Critics of the Environmental Protection Agency‘s Clean Power Plan say the new regulation will cost up to $292 billion and potentially raise electricity prices in 47 states.

“States should be braced to pay higher costs,” said Laura Sheehan, senior vice president for communications for the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. “Consumers only lose in the Clean Power Plan.”

The numbers came from NERA Economic Consulting, a firm based in Boston that said it used state-of-the-art economic modeling to get its results.…

Hillary Belches 2 Tons of Carbon Dioxide An Hour After Getting Green Endorsement

Video-On Monday, Hillary Clinton accepted the endorsement of the powerful League of Conservation Voters (LCV). The next day, she hopped on a gas-guzzlingprivate Learjet (which emits 2 tons of carbon per hour) to make another appearance.

Clinton’s campaign had pledged to go carbon neutral back in July 2014. However, as CNN reported three weeks ago, the Clinton team has yet to make good on that promise.

After the endorsement was announced, Hillary’s competitor for the Democratic nomination, Bernie Sanders, expressed disappointment because he felt he was the “greener” of the two candidates.…

Antarctic Ice is Growing, Even Hit a ‘Record,’ But Evening News Shows Hype Melting Arctic Instead

Like the nag of a dripping faucet, the liberal news media spent years warning about melting glaciers and ice caps because of global warming. Media outlets predicted an “ice-free” Arctic time and again, and so far have been wrong. But with all the panic about melting glaciers, or sea ice, or ice at the poles the media have reported, one would imagine good news about increasing ice would at least get some attention. Not from the broadcast networks anyway. In the past year, they’ve ignored data showing increasing ice in Antarctica, presumably because it did not fit perfectly with their climate agenda, instead choosing to hype melting Arctic ice repeatedly. Between October 2014 and November 2015, NASA released two separate studies, both showing that ice in Antarctica is growing faster than it is melting. In May 2015, Antarctic ice was at a record high level. Yet between Nov. 4, 2014 and Nov. 11, 2015, the broadcast network’s evening news shows never mentioned either study. During that same time however, the broadcast network’s evening news shows specifically mentioned melting ice in the Arctic 12 different times. All of those were on CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News. But additional stories on all three evening shows implied that melting was occurring in polar regions because of global warming or climate change. – See more at: http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/business/alatheia-larsen/2015/11/12/antarctic-ice-growing-even-hit-record-evening-news-shows#sthash.8VM2OduB.dpuf…

Kerry threatens climate skeptics: They ‘put us all at risk’ – Warns ‘we cannot sit idly by and allow them to do that’

“We have to prepare ourselves for the potential social and political consequences that stem from crop failures, water shortages, famine and outbreaks of epidemic disease,” he said. “And we have to heighten our national security readiness to deal with the possible destruction of vital infrastructure and the mass movement of refugees — particularly in parts of the world that already provide fertile ground for violent extremism and terror.

“Long story short, climate change isn’t just about Bambi. It’s about us.”

Kerry said he would convene a task force of senior government officials and outside experts to determine how to make climate change predictions a part of foreign policy planning.

“If we can better identify the red flags of risk around the world, we can better target our diplomacy and development assistance to enable those nations to become more resilient and more secure — and less likely to devolve into a full-fledged war and humanitarian crisis,” he said.

Embassies could use climate change analysis to help host countries find ways to deter disaster, Kerry said,“before it evolves into deep grievances that help fuel conflicts.”

Rasmussen Poll: 27% of Democrats favor prosecuting ‘global warming’ skeptics – 63% of all Americans say debate is not over

Global warming advocates are calling for the prosecution of groups who disagree with them, and New York State has taken it a step further by investigating Exxon Mobil for refusing to play ball with the popular scientific theory.

But 68% of Likely U.S. Voters oppose the government investigating and prosecuting scientists and others including major corporations who question global warming. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 17% favor such prosecutions. Fifteen percent (15%) are undecided.

Among voters who believe scientists have made up their minds about global warming, one-in-four (24%) favor prosecuting those who question that theory, but 64% are opposed.…

‘House of the Climate Kleptos’: ‘Climate-adaptation fund’ builds houses with only a roof & floor ‘but no walls’ – ‘Structure then begins collapsing within two months’

Ever used a dodgy builder? Then thank your lucky stars you’re not a granny cyclone victim in Bangladesh, with people from the government arriving to help. The money to build her a new house is provided by a climate-adaptation fund, but all she gets is a roof and floor but no walls. The structure then begins collapsing within two months.

The Paris climate talks next month are partly about creating a $US100b-a-year climate fund to help the Third World adjust to hypothesized global warming. In a bit of political theatre (we taxpayers bought her tickets), Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop last December pledged $200m to this fund, rhapsodizing about “investment, infrastructure, energy, forestry and emissions reductions.” [i] The Climate Fund is now taking heat for corruption and non-transparency. Newsweek, although a fervently warmist journal, ran a piece to that effect a few days ago.

An inkling of how such money actually gets spent comes from our Bangladesh example. Transparency International Bangladesh audited a $A4.5m project financed by a climate-change trust fund administered by the Bangladeshi government. It also tried to audit a sister-fund provided by aid donors, but couldn’t find enough documentation to even start the audit! One of its trenchant recommendations was to “mete out exemplary punishments to corrupt individuals.”…
