2014 Sees Record Harvests Worldwide…Demolishing Gloomy Myth Global Warming Would Lead To Acute Crop Failures

It’s early November and now is a good time to look at some of this year’s global crop harvest results. Let’s recall that global warming models projected poor harvests and hunger in the future due to droughts (and floods). But that is hardly the case…at least certainly for this year. And recall how Joe Bastardi last spring projected a “Garden of Eden” harvest for the US Great Plains. Looks like he was right. The story is similar many places worldwide, and not just the US. 10-foot corn For example Bloomberg here reports of a record US corn harvest in 2014, writing: From Ohio to Nebraska, thousands of field inspections this week during the Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour show corn output in the U.S., the world’s top producer, will be 0.4 percent above the government’s estimate. Months of timely rains and mild weather created ideal growing conditions, leaving ears with more kernels than normal on 10-foot (3-meter) corn stalks and more seed pods on dark, green soy plants.” All-time high of 3.631 billion bushels of soybean Bloomberg also writes here that the US production of soybean “will jump 10 percent this year to an all-time high of 3.631 billion bushels, and inventories before the 2015 harvest will be double a year earlier.” In Europe the story is the similar. Last May the online marktkompass here already wrote of record wheat harvests: In all regions of Central and Eastern Europe the weather for growth was close to being optimal and the yield potential has drastically improved.” “All-time records” in Europe In Germany’s agricultural state of Mecklenburg West-Pomerania, corn and barley reached record harvests. The online bauwesta reports that both winter and summer barley harvests set all-time records. Overall across Europe Crop Site reports this year’s cereal harvest “has generally been strong in Europe and Ukraine“. Doom and gloom media silent on bumper crop yields Moreover, numerous analysts report of falling grain and commodity prices. All of this, of course, is great news for consumers and a planet that still has close to a billion people who do not get enough to eat. Yet the good news is generally not getting reported by the doom-and-gloom obsessed media. “Bounty of wheat, barley and oats” Almost every country one looks at in Europe, one is finding record bumper …

‘Criminalizing Weather-related Fatalities’ – ‘Deaths from natural disasters are traditionally considered ‘acts of God,’ or ‘acts of nature,’ beyond human control’

http://www.americanthinker.com/2014/11/criminalizing_weatherrelated_fatalities.html

Deaths from natural disasters are traditionally considered “acts of God,” or “acts of nature,” beyond human control. This view is being challenged in a French trial where prosecutors have charged a small-town mayor with manslaughter for deaths caused by storm flooding. The precedent of criminalizing weather-related deaths would delight climate-change activists who increasingly call for criminal trials of anyone skeptical of their agenda.…

‘UN IPCC recycles global doom and wants a small part of everything you own’ – ‘Gullible journalists are swooning’

IPCC recycles global doom and wants a small part of everything you own

Gullible journalists are swooning today with more and glorious prophesies of disaster. This from the team that relies on simulations that not only fail on global scales1, but they can’t predict regional2, local3, short term, continental, or polar effects4 either. They are also wrong about humidity5, rainfall6a,6b,6c, drought7 and clouds8, as well as the all-important upper tropospheric patterns too.9, 10 Speaking to the BBC earlier, Dr Pachaudri said today’s announcement was, categorically, the “strongest, most robust and most comprehensive” document that the IPCC has produced. — BBC They are robustly, comprehensively, and consistently wrong. But it’s OK, they only want 0.06% of GDP (for now). The IPCC says that the cost of taking action to keep the rise in temperature under 2 degrees C over the next 76 years will cost about 0.06% of GDP every year. Over the same period, world GDP is expected to grow at least 300%. – BBC The religious leader has returned from the mount, for he hath heard the word of the God: “BAN KI-MOON: Science has spoken.” – ABC Who knew the name of God was “science”? What do we call the people who get nearly every prediction wrong? What else – “the […]Rating: 9.5/10 (52 votes cast)

Claim: ‘Denier’ converts to warmist: ‘I Was a Climate Change Denier’ – ‘After years trapped in a ‘skeptic’ loop, my path to evidence-based freedom’

http://thetyee.ca/Opinion/2014/11/01/I_Was_A_Climate_Change_Denier/

I created a list of every question and doubt I had about the physics, chemistry, biology, economics and politics of climate change, and I started reading. I took online courses. I listened to podcasts. Every myth in my head popped and floated away. I learned that cosmic rays cannot account for the current patterns of climate change; that low and middle-income countries and their fragile economies are actually more vulnerable to climate change than high-income countries and should care more about it; that climate change could be accelerating desert formation; and finally, that pushing for renewable energies and sustainable development is in harmony with combating climate change.…

Moonwalker Dr. Buzz Aldrin dissents: ‘I am skeptical humans are causing global warming’

‘In the news today I hear about the large solar flares, which is an indication of the power of the sun to influence Earth and our climate,’ Dr Aldrin said.
‘My first inclination is to be a bit sceptical about the claims that human-produced carbon dioxide is the direct contributor to global warming.
‘And if there is that doubt, then I think an unbiased non-politically motivated group of people worldwide, representing us instead of creating taxes like the carbon tax, should examine the output of different nations that might contribute to the very large cycles of warming and cooling that have taken place long before we started to have humans producing emissions.
‘In a short period of time it appears to some people [that humans are] the cause of global warming – which is now called climate change – [but] climate change has certainly existed over time.’
