Governor Schwarzenegger Discusses Earth Day 2009 in Weekly Radio Address – Written by Imperial Valley News – Saturday, 25 April 2009

Sacramento, California – Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger discusses Earth Day in his weekly radio address, which he broadcast on YouTube for the first time. Last night’s first broadcast caps a week full of social media use by the Governor.

Excerpted Text of Governor’s Address: Oh hello. This is Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Welcome to a very special California Report, the first one broadcast not just on the radio, but also on video. This week we are celebrating one of the most remarkable days of the year, which is Earth Day. […]

Everyone can do something. This is the bottom line. By adjusting the thermostat, unplugging unused electronics, using efficient fluorescent bulbs, carpooling, or buying recycled products, and the list goes on and on.

These are the kind of things that anyone can do. Did you know that air-drying your clothes for 6 months saves 700 pounds of carbon dioxide?

You see the impact that you all have. Keep the right tire pressure in your car and you will reduce gasoline costs by 4 percent.

CNN Features Climate Depot on ‘Lou Dobbs Tonight’ – Video

Washington, DC — CNN’s “Lou Dobb’s Tonight” featured Climate Depot and it’s executive editor Marc Morano in a news segment on April 24, 2009.

“Climate Depot is a forum for skeptics of global warming,” CNN reported, noting it is an “online magazine.” CNN featured the Climate Depot’s exclusive report on how the UK’s Lord Christopher Monckton was shut of Gore’s Congressional hearing on Friday.

“If you look at Gore’s testimony today, he was talking about what could, might and may happen 50 to 100 years from now,” Morano said on CNN. “He was not talking about reality,” he added.

Here is the complete story via Newsbusters:

Excerpt: The CNN segment highlighted a ClimateDepot.com report that global warming skeptic Lord Christopher Monckton was denied the opportunity to testify before the House Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment.

“The House Democrats don’t want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told the online magazine Climate Depot,” CNN correspondent Lisa Sylvester said.

And as Climate Depot’s Marc Morano explained – most Gore’s doom-and-gloom forecasts are to occur in the distant future.

“If you look at Gore’s testimony today, he was talking about what could, might and may happen 50 to 100 years from now,” Morano said to CNN. “He was not talking about reality.”
